It's a great idea, since many of us hobbyists have large pools of FF miles that sit and depreciate or go unused. One thing to keep in mind: most airlines charge a significant fee for transferring miles to another person's account. This fee does not apply if you use miles to purchase a ticket for someone else. So it'll be much more valuable all around if you know what travel you're booking and then have the gentleman book the ticket for you with miles.

Hope this helps.

I am wondering if there are gents out there that would be interested in gifting Frequent Flyer Miles vs other gifting forms.  It just occurred to me, this could be a great way of bartering.  Any thoughts or issues this might pose?

Thanks,
