I gotta say the one these guys throw is awesome.
It's very laid back, casual , no bs , no drama. It's like meetimg with friends at a bar . You can chat with whiever you want .
I've met Rwally nice people .
The ones who put the event together are very careful with screening and know how to throw a party!

The one Mr. Fisher is referring to is a twice annual party that is scheduled for April and October. There is a small group of us that have been arranging these parties for about ten years, now.

These parties are totally above board, held in a private room in a public bar. NO business is transacted at the party, There is a cash bar and complimentary appetizers served. Guys donate a small door fee to help cover the cost of the event. Think of it as a casual cocktail reception where everyone gets to meet other like minded people.  The party usually starts around 6PM and goes until 10 or so.

To answer your question, pleasantries are exchanged with the expectation that individuals may make arrangements for future meetings. It is really an opportunity to meet people in a relaxed atmosphere and many people have benefitted by the ability to make future decisions based on their interactions during the party.

Suggest you go to the M&G board to learn how to get on the screened invitation list.

Besides this bi-annual event, there is also a semi-regular event in the CT Casino area, run by other people. I have not attended any of those but have heard they are lots of fun. Lastly, there is another M&G event, I believe happening in April, in the Boston area, but you will need to find the information on the boards for that event.

I have seen some postings regarding meet and greats but I am unfamiliar with then. Are they worth attending? How many providers attend?

It's under TER General Boards.. There are a lot of threads there including one held recently in Boston..
Attendance varies.. 10 guys.. 10 providers whatever.. There is one coming up April 29th

Here is a link to one group that has a TER # so you can read the reviews..

There are so many types of parties, it's hard to give an answer when there are so many variables.  Different attendees, venues, cities, vibes, etc.

In my personal opinion,  it is something worth trying at least once, but it is not necessarily something you will feel like attending regularly. it just depends on your tastes and your own experience with it.

xoxo

Maybe 70 people about evenly divided.
Everyone was friendly and good food.
I'll be at another next month.

As it's been said here.. There are different types.. a simple M&G.. luncheon.. or a soiree.. that is billed a "full participation".. which pretty much translates to prepare to be an exhibitionist.. I attended one of those and it was great. The Soiree is a lot smaller of course.. just by practicality.. Obviously the admission charge has a lot to do with what to expect there as well.

You have just brought back some great memories.  I haven't been to a M&G in years and they were awesome!  I may have even fallen in love at one or two.  :
