We're spending two days in Oak Brook and a day downtown... is Magnificent Mile North considered downtown? lol And, what is the difference between Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower area and Magnificent Mile Area - River North area.

For a new visitor NM ave has a lot to offer in sightseeing restaurants and shopping.
Take some time to see the lakefront.

I'm heading to Chicago soon, it's my first trip and I'm looking to narrow down areas to stay in. I know I'll do one day near  O'Hare, one day downtown... I know other people mentioned Oak Brook, is there anywhere else I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for your help guys!
