I certainly don't feel responsible for his recovery, but it feels so good to hear he's doing better!

"Dear Misty:

Thank you so much for your special message. I have been in and out of the hospital several times. I am doing much better.
I have a will to live now. Thanks to you and the doctors and nurses who helped me.

Thank you so much.

Without your encouragement - I would probably have given up.

Thank you so much.

Responsible or not . . . some people are just plain NICE FOLKS, and I'm pretty sure Ms. Misty is one of them! "Everybody Loves Misty!" RIGHT??? So you're pretty responsible for a lot of Good things happening!!

Thanks, I hope you don't think I'm patting myself on the back.  It looks like it though LOL.  I just wanted to share how good it felt.

I can have my bad days, that's for sure.

I met someone through the hobby who was dying.  I felt special to be a part of his life.  I think about him often.

I hope you get the chance someday to find out a little more about the person you helped.

But what / who is this all about? Can somebody throw some light on this?

I'd never gotten an email from someone who didn't want to live.  It really upset me.

If it was for real, was I the only person he was communicating his suicide thoughts to?

I didn't know if it was for real or a joke so I wanted opinions.  I figured there was at least one psychiatrist who read the General Discussion board.  I'd accidentally posted the follow-up here instead of back on the General Discussio Board.

I put the original post linked below.  I feel stupid LOL

I wanted to go into Psych til I took a class, which included a week at Moose Lake State Hospital.

Nice to feel like something you did helped make a big difference in anothers life.
