When I see a well reviewed provider from TER on BP....

In recent prostitution stings (e.g. Miami Gardens), LEs posted fake Ads on Backpage to get "Johns" or contacted posters to get providers. Wonder if ladies and hobbyists here on TER are still using Backpage for marketing or source of info?   Especially for ladies, how could you protect yourselves when contacted by some you have not met, who could potentially be a cop? Besides asking for references and avoiding explicit talks, does charging deposits help in anyways?

I also find fake Ads/callers to be a very "slippery slope", would one day LEs start to use TER and P411 in their stings. Is it even legal for them to register an account (either hobbyist or provider) for the purpose of "tricking" real members here.

I have just started and am still very new. Any and every perspective would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

We ladies protect ourselves from LE via BP the same way we do via any other ad venue.  Yes, LE can make a TER account for the purpose of tricking someone into a sting.  Yes, LE can and has infiltrated verification sites like P411.  Many of us ladies still advertise on BP because there are gems of clients who use it (mostly non-hobbyist guys who don't know about TER yet).  We verify clients that approach us thru BP the same way we verify clients who approach us through any other ad venue.  Our screening process exists to protect us from LE & wackjobs, and they can come to us from all sources.

Charging a deposit *may* help, but I never count on it.  Deposits are more likely to protect against flakiness than LE.  But would LE ever send a deposit to try to set up a sting with someone?  I sincerely doubt it.  So it might help.  For me, a deposit does not count as screening though.  I only ask for deposits if I have to make special/costly arrangements to meet with someone and want 100% guarantee that they won't flake and leave me sitting on those expenses out of pocket.

The best thing you can do to protect yourself is simply choose reputable ladies with long standing histories in the community who you can be certain are not LE.  Especially when you are a newbie.  As you go, you will get a feel for what is safe and what is not.  Always remember to do your research!

Best of luck!  XOXO

This is from the prostitution abolitionist aka trafficking NGOs that got 686 million in funding last year under the guise of rescuing trafficking victims. Then they use the funds to help LE do more stings, they arrest the providers and then lie to the media and say that they rescued them.
In Arizona they are posting fake bp ads that say age 20, and when you call to book at the last minute the girl would ask the client to pick her up a pack of cigarettes and she would say she was only 17.  They arrested over 100 clients this way and charged them with major felonies.

Tip of the day" Electronic devices are not private, never let anything come out of your mouth, that you wouldn't want repeated in a court of law.  Do NOT call providers and ask them what services they provide!

There are lots of fake ads and bait and switch operators on BP, but they're generally easy  to spot with general common sense and the "if it looks too good to be true it probably is" rule.   But I look there first for a couple of reasons.  First, many legit reviewed providers post there to let you know that they are available, and second, it's a place where new providers can get their start.

My advice is to screen out the obvious fakes, then Google the phone number and look for a track record in the form of numerous posts, multiple locations and consistent pictures. Then if you like what you see pick up the phone and see if her voice and personality match the posting and meet your expectations. If all of this lines up, then it might be worth taking a chance. I've been the first reviewer on many providers who have been great, and on some who have not been so great. But, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Good luck

is only on BP, or that they only employ one technique to ensnare the folks of the hobby world. A sting or reverse sting on BP is only their most common, simplest MO.

As someone mentioned, they have infiltrated each of the major verification sites in the past. They took down a major hobby board on the West Coast about a year ago. They pretty much ended Craigslist as an ad venue for the hobby. They have conducted stings from ads on sites other than BP many, many times.

You can safely assume that LE has been, is, or will be on any hobby-related ad or discussion site.

Backpage is not their primary ad-space, but they may post there if things are slow on a day they are already working.  More than one girl has told me the phone starts ringing a few minutes after the ad goes up and will ring dozens of times per hour for several hours.

But backpage brings quantity more than quality.  Calls from guys with no intention of booking...calls from pimps saying they could make so much more money working for them...and more and more LE calling asking for outcalls...with a few legit clients in between.

Backpage is more bad news than good, I say.

For example, I post sponsor ads a month in advance of my visits and do not list my phone number.  My way of interacting with BP yields website hits and advance bookings from serious gentlemen, just like any other ad.  It's not about slowness, just about diversification.  I don't mind seeing established hobbyists but I also enjoy having newbies in the mix, and posting sponsor ads on BP gives them a chance to get on my schedule far in advance of my arrival.  And they really are quality guys.  2-3 hrs+ bookings, and since they are not "hobbyists" they often feel like they found a gem and don't care to research ther ladies so they see me over and over on my return visits.  So idk.  I think yall are missing something about why a lady might advertise there.  There are great clients who rarely see ladies who only know about BP, and they will send me their full identity & employment screening on a dime a month in advance to book a multi hour appointment and then become a loyal regular.  With those kind of results, how could I not advertise there (esp because it's so affordable that it doesn't matter if it's hit or miss)?  Removing my phone number entirely has made all the difference though.  All the gents who see me on BP have to visit my website and read my booking page to find my contact info just like everyone else who finds me from other ad venues.  :)
