Yes, I'd still be upset (and amazed).

Quote  "The attending cardiologist, Dr. Sreenivasulu Gangasani, scheduled a stress test for eight days later, but failed to inform the patient to stop all physical activity until the test was completed,"  End Quote

I've hear about restricting activity but never stopping activity.  Could he have died from walking up a flight of stairs?  Whatever activity he was involved in makes no difference.

8 days to get a stress test scheduled is extremely fast.  At least in my area.   The patient wasn't in cardiac distress when he was with the doctor or he would have been directed to an emergency room.  Far as I can tell,  he was concerned about symptoms.  There was nothing to indicate failure was iminent.  High blood pressure?  Most Americans have it to some degree.  In danger of having clogged arteries?  Blood tests for cholesterol don't have instantaneous results. Medical history is the responsibility of both parties.  If you don't give the physician the clues he won't ask the right questions.

If he had never gone to the Dr. what would the award be?  Seems like the family and the lawyers are looking for a way to profit from the situation.  I have sympathy for the family's loss but really have a hard time believing there should be financial compensation in this case.

The report (at least to me) showed no reason the case should have ever gone to jury. But then,  I'm sure all the facts weren't reported and I'm no lawyer.
