I agree on the apple plug!   I started out with apple back in the day.  I thought it was wise to move to windows back then too.  Windows is designed to make us buy over and over and over!

I believe they emptied my contents so I could not send out an alert to my own contacts.  That's the only thing that makes sense to my as to why they deleted all of my stuff.  Ugh!  I have amazing friends and contacts that I can no longer contact when I am touring and the list goes on!

Thanks again for your input!

Jenni,

It REALLY sucks (and not in a good way) when your correspondence, contact lists, and history get wiped out like this. Are you sure this was not some snafu on Yahoo's part, if so they may have backup's of your email data that could be reset. It seems strange that a random hacker would wipe all your data rather than just harvest the email accounts in your contact list to sell to an advert spamming group. Of course there are many out there that cause problems as well.

For security software I use Norton and AVG on different machines. I like AVG better as it grabs a smaller chunk of available memory and the full internet security package (vs the anti-virus alone) is quite complete. Whatever program you decide on should have real time scanning of websites you visit and email which will catch malware and other nasty stuff before it can invade your computer. Here's a link to the AVG site:
http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage where you can install the trial version for free. Or just buy the full version for under $50.00 for a year. The insurance is good to have!

Once installed be sure to do a full scan of your computer to kick out any vagrants that may be sticking around. Best wishes in all your endeavors.

I am putting this message where ever I can as I woke up last week to having my e-mail account completely stripped!  NOTHING IN IT and I have years of friends e-mails, all of my Pre-Screened client references!  And to make it worse alot of ppl got e-mails from "ME" saying I was stranded in Scottland!   I would never complain if I stranded in Scottland!  I LOVE thier accent and the little KILTS they wear for easy access!  LOL!  Reported to Yahoo and no reply from

So please contact me if you see this, and resend old correspondence we may have had to help me insure I know who you are if you have already pre-screen protocols.

This has happened to me as well. Make sure you have the best Firewall and Anti-virus programs. Also, have AD Aware Software on your computer. This will make sure no one can access your info. I was hacked in my bank accounts HELLO- that hurt!

I had this same problem and got rid of my P.C.  I went out and got an Apple and have had no problems for 2 years now.  I have had no viruses or any problems with security.  I don't even have Security on my computer.  Apple is alot more money but they are well worth it.  You can get them at the local Apple Store or Best Buy and get the Warranty for personal damage.  Apple systems are designed for this on going problem they are extremely hard to get viruses on them and they protect your personal information.  Now Add up all the money, time, and headache this one incident has caused you and you probably could have an Apple.  I feel for you girl because I went through the same shit time and time again and just got fed up.  This is right from Apple's Website: One thing a Mac doesn’t do: Get PC viruses. Trojan horses, worms, email viruses. The digital world can be a scary place. Thankfully, a Mac isn’t susceptible to the thousands of viruses plaguing Windows-based computers. Mac OS X comes with built-in defenses that keep you safe, without any work on your part. And when a potential security threat arises, Apple responds quickly by providing software updates and security enhancements you can download automatically and install with a click.
Check it out and save you self some headache, here the link:

I have never been happier and check out the laptops for mobile options.
You won't regret it and it runs so much faster, and problem free.
The security on p.c. is b.s. because hackers can mutate viruses and blow right back through your firewall like nothing, and you pay money for these worthless security systems.
Apple is the way to go,  I have not had any issues for 2 years straight and love it.
I hope you get everything worked out, because I have been there and feel for you, its not fun.

Why does this have to do with "Pre-Screening? I screen everyone and I don't believe you were hacked from a client. It is just from surfing the net. That is where mine came from. I did get emails from two past clients that were spam, but only because they were hacked by a different person or Trojan.

It has more to do with quite a few chaps who have unpredictable schedules and responded to my Pre-Screening specials so they can call me in short notice.  I know it's not a client, that particular hustle has been going around.  They contact people in your contact list with a distress message asking people to send money to some freakin place hoping that someone actually falls for it.  Problem is they left my entire inbox, folders, contacts EMPTY.  So now if one of my pre-screened gents calls, I won't have thier references saved and have to ask them again.  This is more of heads up to those who have been kind enought to pre-screen in the event they find themselves with unexpected time on thier hands and can visit with me then.  Now I look stupid when they do call, and I don't have thier correspondence to me to confirm we have done our homework together.

It really sucks, but at least it isn't my bank account!

Thanks for your help and input!

I understand now. Thanks for explaining!
