I submitted my book [ESCORT - The True Story of an Orange County Call Girl] to iBooks and Apple rejected it due to content.  This surprised me given all the other smut titles that iBooks offers.  I sent them a screen shot of their website showing all the trashy titles.  No response yet.  So, I submitted my book to the Google Play Books store and they approved it for sale within 24 hours.  I'll let you all know if Apple changes their position.  Until then, my book remains for sale on Google [and Amazon].

I received the following response from the iBooks people after I submitted screen shots of their website book offerings that clearly show material considerably more raunchy than my book.

I was told: "After additional review, it has been decided that the book contains Prohibited Explicit or Objectionable Content and will not be allowed into the iBooks Store."

No further details we given as to which content is objectionable or which aspects of the policy are violated.

Kind of makes me proud of my literary work.

My book remains for sale on Amazon and Google.

I've enjoyed the snippets you've posted on TER so it's nice to finally get a chance to read the book itself.

Rather than paying $18 for a paper copy of the book, or $70 for a Kindle to read it, instead I downloaded the Kindle Reading App for the PC so I could get the book for $5.  Worked like a champ.  Yeah, I'm slow to adapt & adopt solutions sometimes.

But if you ever meet the author, how do you get an ebook signed?!  Just kidding

If you can spare the money you can ship a Kindle to the author and have her/him/them sign the back of the Kindle. One of my favorite authors came up with that idea a long time ago. He sells tons of eBooks and his fans always send him all kinds of "items" to be signed. Not just eBook readers but other things as well.
