I'm 64.. I would love to see the published study..
I haven't thought to post this here, but since Dr. Milrod used to moderate this board, it seems to make sense to post it here as well.
Our former Love Goddess doctor on The Erotic Highway discussion board is conducting a survey of mature, baby-boomer hobbyists over 60. She writes that this is an "understudied group of hobbyists, and yet they comprise a very important part of our hobbying community - we need to hear from them - what they want, what they like and what they do."
I took the survey - very interesting. It's anonymous and no IP addresses or any other identifying data are visible to her. It's about 100 questions and takes about 10-15 minutes.
The more hobbyists who participate, the more statistical power the survey will have and she's hoping for 100. The results will be compiled and written up in papers that will be published in academic social science journals. She asked me to forward the link to the survey and/or her phone/email information to anyone over 60 in a PM. She is not allowed to go on TER anymore but is really hoping that hobbyists will participate.
Hmmm... Why not just post the link? Not everyone is able to receive PMs...
as person not over 60 might just take it anyways for whatever reason.

But be aware, between collecting the data, writing the article, and having it peer reviewed, it could be the better part of a year until it is available.

I took the survey too and discovered some things about myself. I am also promoting it on another site because I think it's a worthy research topic. Dr. Milrod emailed me some of her past research articles. I'm sure the data from this survey will be handled in like manner with meaningful professionalism. There are no studies whatsoever of hobbyists 60 and over - everyone is focused on street/drugs/trafficking - you name it. All negativity and stigmatization. This study will change the game in terms of information, but only if enough hobbyists participate.
Took the survey; it was very easy - about 10 minutes. Found it interesting, especially for the questions it does not ask. Definitely recommend that people help Dr. Milrod out - it is worthy research. Like another hobbyist, it got me thinking about myself and my motivations.
