You should be taking care of your references, though.

It's always been my modus operandi to follow up with an e-gift card of some other token of thanks for a 2nd or 3rd reference.  My rule of thumb is that I would hope to receive one reference for each date, but anything beyond that is encroaching on her private and professional time, and should be compensated.  Nothing against what is being said here, we each have our own way of working this and I respect that,  but I've always found that a small investment in your street cred pays off big time.

I've never heard of such a thing.  Does that happen?

I'm going to save both of us time and effort by either requesting an OK or a Whitelist if we've had a great time.  It's a one time effort and I'm not taking up her time.

Like she stated, it's a business decision. Seeing a lady once and thinking you're entitled to constantly use her as a refence is a bit much.

...check with the provider who whitelisted the guy to make further inquiries.  If the provider gets tired of the inquiries, she'd have to remove her whitelisting of the guy.

The same could be said for P411. How each lady decides to screen is out of my control. I just know I'm not the one whose initiated the contact.

As does TER.
You can't see whitelists without being VIP member which is a payed (or earned) feature.

Do I think it's a good idea to charge for references?
No.

Dose my opinion of someone else's business change how I do mine?
No.

Does worrying and complaining and bashing how others do things make you look and feel good?
I think not.

Try focusing on something that makes you happy and worry about it if your future date lists someone as a reference who requires such. Until then live and let live.

Blowing someone else's candle out doesn't make yours burn brighter.

Goldie,
I have never heard that expression, but touche!

The beauty of this business is that everyone (hobbiest and provider) can do things how they like. There is a virtual smorgasbord of options out there so find those that are consistent with what you want/like and simply pass the others by.

Btw, the same can be said about 'requiring cancellation fees, charging deposits, not accepting same day dates, etc... To each his/her own

Speaking of the troll that started this whole thread.  If you don't like any particular business's policy, then don't go there.  As popular as Arden is, she is not a monopoly. There are lots of ladies you can see that may have policies you can agree with.
Move on and stop busting her buns about things that are none of your business and have nothing to do with you.  After all this, I seriously doubt if she would ever see you professionally, so you will never have occasion to ask her for a reference.

Possible risk with this practice is that a bad person can make nice payments to willing call girls to have him portrayed in a positive light.
