Ok ladies, what's with the "Baby","Honey", and "Sweetie"...
The pet names are for me as "terms of endearment". I feel good starting my conversation with you in a sweet and flirty way. By calling you a pet name, it tells you that I am approachable and excited to get to know you. Eventually, I would like to know more about you like your name and hobbies, but I know a lot of us providers as well as hobbyists like to keep their identity unknown. They ask me for my name, which I gave. I have exchanged emails with a few and I always introduce and close my email with my name. And still I get the "Thank You Baby", "What day and time, Baby", and "Where are you staying baby" and these aren't auto responses.
One well reviewed lady, who we have exchanged numerous texts and pictures and she still calls me baby. I then put her to the test and I asked her what's my name, I got radio silence fo about 30 minutes, then she finally responded, with the right name.Needless to say, I canceled on her. She was a little surprised but after I explained my feelings, she understood.
Look,I get the initial "Baby" at the beginning but after awhile know who you're talking to.
And as I can see, the times are a changin.
I see why that would be a turn off. I personally have wondered the same. I wouldn't ever refer to people I'm meeting with for the first time as baby and sweetie only because it seems so much less sincere in this industry if that makes sense.That is also because I like to be myself and not force anything and for me calling someone sweetie and baby wouldn't feel myself. Maybe others are trying to be sweet just for me I wouldn't. So I understand why you wouldn't be into that.
I don't know about others but I don't like the sweetie ect thing don't know were it started I think we get to know each other from the first call, text, e mail just be your self so when we meet it just seems ez er
exchanged a bunch of emails using the first name at the start of every note seems formal so I will throw in an occasional Sweetheart or Darling. I wouldn't use "baby" because that sounds creepy to me. (just personal preference)
I never thought about it being a red flag to anyone. And I wouldn't do it to anyone I thought might think it was because I didn't know their name
On how she corresponds.Personally,I have never called a guy who reached out to me for an appt hun,sweetie,or baby.
That's not my thing.
When corresponding by email I address the person by their name.
Perhaps the lady you are speaking about was busy when you asked her what your name is.
I guess some guys don't mind and some do why not just say to her "Hey cannot you call me any pet names" if it bothers you
sugar, darlin', hun and sweetheart are in my natural vocabulary...but i do try to keep it down out of respect that others may be offended

Many guys call me baby, honey, or sweetie...and it's ok, as long as we know each other. In other words, as long as I know that he knows that he is talking to me, May, then I am ok with the Baby's, Honey's, and Sweetie's.
However, if they address me as "Baby" instead of 'May" in their first email to me, sometimes if I am busy I don't even bother to reply because I feel like it is a form letter that they are sending to many girls.
So, when I hear from someone for the first time, I like it to start with "May". I feel like it's more sincere and personal and I know then that the email is for just me.
Therefore, I also always call guys by their first name too. I feel it's more personal that way and they know it's not a copy and paste reply. Baby, Honey, and Sweetie are also not in my replies because it's just not me.

Kinda agree, initially I'd like to know that she knows my name, then after we're familiar with each other then it's "Ooo baby baby"....do it Smokey

I could care less if the lady calls me by a pet name or my name. It's more about there attitude and how they treat me when we are together. So you canceled a date from an well reviewed lady who probably would have given you a great experience just because she called you babe or baby a few times!!! Sounds like you are kinda inflexible and she probably is glad you did cancel, God!!! Get real!
And if you've ever seen the volume of emails and voice messages some ladies receive, you'd understand why many do this.

...but I find Sweetie or Sweetheart kind of condescending for some reason. It's all in fun. You can also call me by my first name since you know it once we've met. Also, Mister is cool, as in, "get back over here Mister, I'm not thru with you yet."
