If you read enough of them, you can usually tell if the one that's out of line was a bad day, a spiteful guy, or more normal than the other reviews let on.  It's more art than science, but it's a time-in-seat thing.

I have a question as I look at reviews. I've noticed that sometimes there'll be some solid 8's etc and then suddenly a 3 or 4 or two and then back to the solid numbers again, and vice versa where there'll be disappointing reviews and suddenly a 9 oor a 10 pops up.

I've concentrated on solid track records, but some of the "up and down" providers seem interesting. The question is, do providors try to bump up their reviews with false posts? And by the same token, do hobbyists sometimes add a few poor reviews out of spite when in fact it may be that they were the disappointing factor in the first place?

To answer your questions...

All of the above, and then some...

What I mean is, yes, there are times when providers have attempted to prop up their scores by posting false reviews. TER is pretty good at spotting this (not 100%, but they try). When they believe a provider has posted a false review, she is de-listed and banned from the site. It does happen though, in spite of their best efforts. Providers can also attempt to manipulate their reviews by offering discounts in exchange for reviews (Many a thread has been dedicated to the ethics of such behavior, the jury is still out on whether it is ethical, and I am not mentioning this practice now to start yet another debate :o)

On the flip side, you asked do hobbyists submit bad reviews to be spiteful? Sure, you bet. Are there reviews where it was the hobbyist who was the dissapointing one? Certainly. This is why the phrase YMMV (your mileage may vary) is important. No matter how wonderful a lady may be, there is no such thing as a woman who can be all things to all men, so it is inevitable that at some point, she will encounter a gentleman for whom she was simply not his cup of tea.

Also recognize that providers are humans too. Sometimes a woman just has an off day, and simply isn't at her very best. I am certain that if you were evaluated in your profession on a daily basis, there would be days when you are outstanding, and other days when your work was only so-so.

The message is, take reviews with a grain of salt. They serve a very useful purpose, but they aren't necessarily the gospel either. Take them for what they are worth - a useful guide, but not a silver bullet. If a lady's review history has a few blemishes, but is overall consistently positive, and she appeals to you, then proceed with caution if that is what you want to do.

You might even regard them like restaurant reviews. Sometimes I read a review and then visit a place and go "what were they thinking?" either because it was much better than reviewed or much worse.

I suppose I pay more attention to what they actually did than her attitude in the review. I'm also paying attention to specific details that might matter more to me than the average hobbyist (like smoking or tattoos).

By all means, read the bad reviews as well as the good then make up your mind if it was just a bad experience or a trend of bad behavior. She may have even been graded poorly on something that isn't a big deal to you.

SinsOfTheFlesh's post above sums it all up very well.

There are agencies and probably indies who post fake reviews, either to establish a review history or to make up for bad reviews.  Some of the reviews of agencies girls here in London are laughable.  It's a pain for ladies too as most of us try to provide a quality service and if clients choose to see other on the basis of obviously fake reviews/fake photos then everybody loses out.

As said above, if you like the look/sound of a lady and her reviews are generally consistent then you're probably going to have a good time with her.

SinsoftheFlesh gave you great information.  One thing to add, look at those "off-center" reviews.  If they are by reviewers with multiple reviews (minimum 5 or more) then they might be more accurate than great reviews from a guy with only 1 or 2 reviews.

Thanks! Y'all have been helpful.

False/self reviews arent allowed, we get delisted. Girls that have their numbers up and down are YMMV... (your mileage may vary)..however, Just because you type a 10 10.. doesnt mean that th review will be a ten ten.. its all a rating system through Ter..

I wouldnt say that.. sometimes if people in a providers personal life find here on here.. a boyfriend, ex or husband... they will write bad reviews...

Most of the avid reviewers here are pretty much honest in their assessments.
