Suspicious reviews are removed to protect the validity of the TER database.  Stating the reason for delising (example: Provider posted review of her self) could open TER up to a liable lawsuit.  Even though we have all the neccisary documentation to back our decisions, it is expensive to fight this sort of battle.

It is best for us just not to publish any information on this provider.  Remember, it takes a lot of $20 memberships to fight a interstate court case.

TER's policy is to quickly deactivates reviews that are suspicious as result they no longer turn up during searches and the info is unavailable from the favorites.

Would it be possible to have the reviews turn up during searches and have a descriptive message such as "This review has been deactivated because it is suspicious" or "This review has been deactivated per the provider's request" whatever the case may be.

That way if I do a search on a given number or name and I get a message telling me the provider has had reviews pulled because they were suspicious I know to be extra cautious.  IMHO it's better than not getting any info at all.

having a statement that says "This profile has been deactivated" and one that says "This profile has been deactivated per provider's request"

No judgement implied just the fact that there was a review and it is no longer accessible.

If it flies with your legal people then great if not then forget it.  Thanks for taking the time to explain the reasoning behind your policy.  I understand that you have to protect TER from potential liabilities.
