Will test lead to more BBFS

I was wondering if more hobbyists would consider BBFS with the use of the OraQuick HIV test. Both take the test and in 20 minutes the two of you feel a lot more comfortable going without a condom. Take me back to the 70's.

OraQuick is a great product. It is used by most all health clinics to test for HIV. Beginning just a few weeks ago, QraQuick became available to the public and is now on the shelf in Walmart, CVS and Walgreens. The cost is $39.

You can test yourself in the privacy of your own home. A quick swab of the mouth and 20 minutes later you'll find out if you are HIV positive or negative. No need to send anything to a lab. No one will know the results, except you.

Finally, a test for HIV you can take in private and get the results immediately. No need for expensive doctor visits, lab tests, insurance questions, etc.

HIV is no longer a death sentence. It is a chronic disease that can be managed. But you need to know your status early. Everyone should get tested now.

As a side note, the company that makes OraQuick, Orasure (ticker is OSUR) is a public company and could be a good investment for 2013. For full disclosure, I own OSUR shares.

The test will only show you if you are HIV positive following tranmission of more than 12 weeks as that is the point when the body begins producing the antibodies for which HIV tests screen. So if someone contracts HIV Jan 1 and takes that test anywhere between Jan 1 and April 1 it may show them as being HIV negative, but they are still capable of transmitting the disease.  The only way this test would make it safe for BBFS is if both partners abstain from all sexual activity for 3+ months before taking the test to assure negative status.
