Reading a provider review I came across the abbreviation "GS".  Can anyone provide a definition of GS.

You can either search the Newbie board to find the answer, or you can check out the post titled 'Definitions, Acronyms, Abbreviations, and Terms' here on the Newbie board, which should cover your question.

I am a newbie too, so I understand how we have to learn a "new language"....and learn how to run good sorts.....and how to deal with screening....and references etc.....

Nonetheless, if we (the rookies) expect the more experienced hobbyists to share their wisdom, we shouldn't waste their time.

Yes, questions come up again and again and again. However, every several days the moderator(I think) posts the same "Newbies Read Me First" message. It was 8 threads down and posted 2 days b/4 your question. The first time I spent some time on the links from that post, I had answers to my first 15 potential questions.

Personally, I read (or at least scanned) the last 6 months on the Newbie board and last 3 months on the General board. Yes, it took some time, but My GOD what an education. I have also  been lucky enough to have a few "Senior" guys respond to my posts......and follow up PMs. I am happy to have access to these guys. I don't want to burn their time, nor would I want them to lose interest in a repetitive Newbie board so that others don't get the same benefit I have had.

Again, I am a new guy with only one review (yes I am still smiling), so I know my opinion matters about as much as a gnat's eyelash and some of the "real" members may reply - in flames that this isn't the case (answering the same questions repeatedly isn't dull). If that is so.......thanks very much to all those who help us rookies out. Personally, I am already finding the Newbie board to be very repetitious. Of course, maybe I am just the A-hole people close to me tell me that I am.

My point being, we can get lots of the basic answers with a little research and save the questions for the more complicated stuff.
