Porn Stars

I wouldn't do it - it's a waste of money.  Not because porn stars won't accept anything other than Talent Testing or CET (I'm pretty sure that many will accept something from any reputable lab) but because the quality of this service is highly questionable.

I did this some years ago when kits first came out to test yourself at home for STDs - something like 10 years ago.  So I know from experience. At that time, I think they didn't check for HIV or Hepatitis but checked for everything else.

Let's look at the process carefully: you are drawing the blood yourself.  You're not trained for this, and it's easy to contaminate the sample.  You are putting the blood into a kit that has sat on a shelf in unknown conditions and could easily be compromised.  You send the sample through the mail where god only knows what the Post Office does to it.  It then, eventually, gets to a lab (maybe even before the sample degrades any from cold, heat, or just time) ... and you have no idea of how good this lab is or how reputable.

What you get is a report... and you can't even know if the report is for your sample because it's all done via code numbers that are SO easy to mix up.

At least this is the process I went through years ago.  After receiving the report, I had to go to my doctor and pay to get the same tests done again, because I didn't trust the results.  So, why bother with the first test?  Just go to a doctor and get it done right the first time.  I get my blood drawn by a professional who puts it into a sterilized container, and it's processed almost immediately - my doctor gets a report in 3 days (usually, unless there's a weekend or holiday involved).

And you're all set.  There's another advantage to having it done by your doctor: the lab work is covered under many insurance plans so you might only have to pay a small co-pay.

ust saw this new (at least to me) STD testing service that sends you the test kit to your home or PO Box.

Anyone used such a service yet

Never even seen it till now but, Its Little more expensive than talent testing it takes a little long BUT they ship the kit to your home so if you don't live near a testing lab its nice for that. I am curious how the blood draw works?

Jos

Never heard of it, and besides, my MD will give me a script to get tested for HIV, RPR, Hep C which can be given by any doctor, just needs the proper ICD coding...(anytime doctors order bloodwork whether its STD panel, lipid panel, metabolic profile, etc there is a numeric and/or letter code to enter..

And in LA, (where I'll be next week), I'll just continue to use CET or TTS...

If you or anyone is considering using such a service just for your own peace of mind, then I guess I can see the logic of using it. But if you are doing so as a means of proving to a prospective PSE that you are "clean" , then you are wasting your time going through the hassle. NO porn star is going to honor anything unless you are tested through Talent Testing Service or CET. Just signup and do a location search, pay the necessary fee, and go to the designated location to have your blood drawn. Results are typically available in 24 hours.
