I get LinkedIn requests at least once per week appears to be from the man just after he walks out the door. It's odd for sure but I simply delete

Last week I received a Linked in request from a woman whose photo strongly reminded me of that of a provider whose ad I've seen in the past. I don't remember her name, so I couldn't verify that my impression is correct. I didn't accept, but I checked her profile, and several of her connections also appear to be in the private entertainment business.

I'd like to ask the group for confirmation, but I don't know how to post a picture. Having my professional or personal connections see that I've linked to her would not be desirable, to say the least. Has this happened to anyone else?

It even crossed my linked in which is set up in an entirely different profile name and fashion away from this business. Sure enough though it was there. You have the option to always decline a connection, especially should it cross boundaries that could cause anyone undue stress or irreparable harm. While I'm sure that was not the intent, sometimes these things aren't always well thought out.

A provider sent you a linked in res? That's giving your entire network a first hand view wtf was she thinking? Must be a fluke no on e is that stupid!

and it was worded in a way that I knew it was not her voice behind those words.

Linked In is always sending these to me from people I know from business, social life, and occasionally from providers.

I just ignore them all as I think social media should be anathema to the level of discretion that this hobby should maintain.

Careful, FYI, as people can see who looked at their profile on LinkedIn ....
Many of the Vegas dancers have accounts for example. I would put their name into Instagram and see if you can get a look that way.

Seems like they are tops are collecting info and snooping after all.

We could use carrier pigeons or better yet, owls, to deliver messages. We are all I'm sure in some data farm server building in the southwest getting sorted and categorized, probably not for security but to be sold to some market focus advertising giant.

Hell I think I'm gonna go buy a hard cover novel in cash to fight the system, just like that old Calvin & Hobbes cartoon said from the 1990s. If only Calvin's dad in the early 1990s could have envisioned "Big data".

While I'm in the 90s, "The Truth is Out There" (on a data server)

I've never received a LinkedIn request from a provider nor never thought about looking for a profile myself.  But I did have a massage provide follow me on Twitter. It's possible that she was looking at the followers of a local celebrity that we both follow and recognized me. But I think she was just following all the males that the celebrity  follows. Whatever the motivation, I thought it best not to be connected.

LinkedIn is contacting based on email addresses that Krystal(#72593) has, so if you are using your business email address to contact her, you will get a request from her to your business email.  She is not the first one to send a request.  I had a few UTR send them to me as well.

Its not a big deal as everyone suggested, "Just Say NO".  LOL.

Since I have contacted Krystal a number of times with various email accounts under false names, I have got a request from her to all of them, even if I don't have a LinkedIn account associated with the email address.

For the record, her occupation on her LinkedIn account is not porn queen nor escort, so I am not sure that anyone would be curious about her even if you accept the invite.  She does have a nice smile though, so your business associate may ask if you have met her.

Thanks LGD, it looks like you've identified the provider in question. I've never met her, but I suppose it's possible I exchanged emails with her at some point in the past.

I did indeed just say no, but I was curious how the request showed up in that email account, since it's not even the one I have tied to Linked in. As a previous poster opined, it looks like someone somewhere has made a connection I didn't expect.

Me too....I met up with her more than once a few years ago but the drive was a hassle with me living south of town.  The name that showed up on the LinkedIn request matches her real first name which she shares with you in person.  There's a Facebook profile with that name that looks to be her, too...OK, that's the end of my detective work.
I use a separate email for my hobbying....so I just "unsubscribed" from any further LinkedIn notices.  Unless the whole thing is SPAM, then I'm screwed for responding.
Isn't she active on this site?  Anyone ask her?

Everyone needs to run 'donottrackme' type software, and run in private browsing mode. What facebook does for instance is track you through cookies and flash cookies wherever you go and starts connecting you to all these different places. While it does not 'tell' anyone it does start linking  advertising to you using this info. If you use gmail, google reads your email and watches where you send it, using that info to link things for advertising purposes

So for instance never email your hobby email from your real email, or vice versa. log out of facebook or google and close your browser before logging into hobby accounts.

Not trying to be paranoid, but they are watching, eyeballs everywhere, watching watching watching..........;)

You have to be very careful...my google account even links to an old yahoo address I don't use.

I think the LinkedIn requests are not being intentionally sent. I get them a couple of times a week, I just ignore. I compare it to Facebook...they suggest people you may want to be friends with. Gmail will link your email accounts to one another. Hobbywise, create one * one, and only one * email account...an email account you wouldn't share with family or friends.

Never accept a request, wherever it may come from, unless you know the person in question and can't be linked back to your personal/private life.

And never send an email from a static IP address, like hotels. IP's can easily be traced, even a simpleton like me...

Good advice and info from wmw, sm4u, and others....
When I Googled her "real" name, a Facebook public profile came up and I was prompted to sign in...which I did NOT do, so I since I wasn't logged in, I think I'm OK in terms of FB tracking.  The FB page is rather innocuous, by the way, looks like a personal page~not a provider page in anyway.
Queeney is experienced in the adult film industry and knows how to "insulate" herself from LEO, but I would guess that as sm4u said these invites are unintentional and are simply the result of her using the same email  for LinkedIn that she has used as a provider, with unintentional consequences
