I live on a residential street with a 25 mph speed limit, but until the city put up a stop sign people were zipping by my house at 40 mph.  I put on a dark blue baseball cap, a blue shirt, navy blue slacks, and stood a black fanny pack on my hip with a black hair dryer in my hand and the cord going to the fanny pack.  I would stand next to a tree and point the hair dryer at the cars.  Just about all came to a quick stop.  The police came by saying that they received a complaint about me.  I asked if I was breaking any laws and they said no and joked about how I was scaring people and making them angry. I stopped, but unmarked cars were parked on the street with many tickets being issued.  We got the stop sign.
