Getting Stood Up

Seems like this is becoming a common theme lately and wanted to say something publicly to both sides of the equation.

Warning for the gals:  Never underestimate the damage that a NCNS (No-Call, No-Show) can do to your business.  It seems like there has been a rash of these lately.  Whether it's through TER or just through word of mouth, the news of these travels like wild-fire through the hobbyist community, way faster than you think.  These aren't gals on the TCU liner ads...  this is starting to happen quite frequently with the best known, highest-priced, most repuatable providers in town.  It used to be that pricing was by far the #1 source of frustration among the other hobbyists I know.  Now, no-shows have supplanted price as the one thing I hear about most.

Warning for the guys:  Be careful about reporting these...  When you say you got blown off, it's very hard for the reader to know what you mean...  Do you mean you had a confirmed appointment and got stood up in the parking lot?  (That seriously pisses guys off, trust me!)  Or do you mean you had a date set up, she asked for a confirmation call, and you were just never able to connect for that confirmtion...  That's really irritating and unprofessional, but not the same as leaving you high and dry.

Because the real left-in-the-parking-lot NCNS reports are SO damaging, you have to be really careful...  Ask for an explanation first if you can, make sure you really did have a confirmed appointment, and make sure you're clear about whether you just plain got stood up, or just couldn't get confirmed.

And TurnedDown...  I wouldn't post these kinds of reports under an alias...  I know it seems safer in terms of keeping on a clean slate with other providers, but it just eliminates any credibility your report might have had, which almost makes your report not worth posting.
