Las Vegas

It's all the same. The Rio isn't any longer of a cab/drive than any other hotel.

I like the Rio.

I found a great deal staying at the Rio, but before I book it, what problems could I run into inviting a lady to join me?  Is the security tight at the elevator?  Does parking suck?  I was about to book at the SLS Yesterday before I heard all the negative reviews.

I could pay a little more to get a room that isn't as nice on the strip (MGM, Luxor, Excalibur), so I wanted to hear your opinions on where I should book. Thx for your help.

Parking is OK. Can be a very long walk to the room depending on the tower. Rarely security. I have only seen it at night during very busy times like WSOP. Rooms are old and not sparkling clean. But the rooms are also very spacious so you get a good amount of square footage for your dollar. Half of the elevators are usually broken but there are enough of them that it is only a minor inconvenience. Pool is not special in any way. Food on campus is hit or miss, especially for a quick bite. The breakfast and lunch options are abysmal.

Out of the 3 others you mentioned I would pick the MGM as long as it isn't the West tower rooms. Those rooms are like the Motel 6. You walk about 2 miles to get to them and the ceiling in the hallway are so low I can touch it as I walk. The rooms are horrible. When you book just confirm that you are getting the Grand tower. That is what you usually get anyway. I think those West tower rooms are for corporate rates.

The Luxor isn't terrible but it isn't great either. I would take the SLS over either Luxor or Excalibur.

It is very hobby friendly! parking is easy and no security at the elevators. Let me know if you'd like some company while you are here!

with a lady coming to see you and actually the walk is not far at all to the towers.
There are two parking garages for the Rio one is close to Ipanema tower and the other one is close to masquerade tower.
If you valet which is in the middle of both towers so still a short walk.No security guards and no key cards for the elevators.
However, the rooms are very dated.Spacious but dated.
I would most definitely pass on Luxor and Excalibur don't even waste your money.
