But first to share please your favorite song about FL  to start from this 12
may be you know other songs??

 http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/florida/songs-about-fl/

I grew up in North Florida and can relate to the song and its inspiration.  On summer family trips, Suwanee River was sung when we crossed it on I-10 and at every state line on a cross country vacation, just for giggles.  By week two the joke wore thin and the song grew shorter.  Sometimes we sang it in a whisper when dad had had enough.  Ah, the good old days of car trips with no DVD players.

your words broke  my heart .. and yes this weekend is  Daddy day??
June 21 is Father day .. what a nice holiday.
In Russia there  no holiday  for fathers.. . No recognition I guess .. as well as not special day for mothers- There is international woman day March 8 established  by Clara Zetkin in 1911 , yet this day is more about woman s right then love to women. And in Russia just started celebrate  The Day of Saint Peter and Saint Fevronia on July 8 .... But there still not as mother and father day.. i think.. May be I am wrong ..
My heart went in tears on your words  "a whisper when dad had had enough"

My daddy died in Russia in 2006 and when I moved to states I promised myself that I will build a life and will visit my parents.. iAt time he dies I still was not back to Russia.. It is now I have passports and can travel. But in 2006 I still was not able .

I can not believe that I would not see him again.
Please everybody who still has parents alive .. spend as much time as you can with them . Now in every man I am looking for something what reminds me about my father.
We all  are daughters, sons, brothers , sisters, mothers, fathers, lovers, and it is what it is is when I was talking about Madonna/slut complex.
It is what it is - "a whisper when dad had had enough" and I am already  myself am mom ..
Daddies .. happy Father day..
 as to song..
I will post my favorite  later - I am not from FL and I still am listening  those songs ..
Alone so far:) But am flying to Fl today night ...:

I immediately fell in love with this song!! It has such a chilling truth behind it.
I would love to someday call Florida my home again. 15 years was not long enough.

Powder your face with sunshine
Put on a great big smile
Make up your eyes with laughter
Folks will be laughing with you in a little while

Whistle a tune of gladness
Blue never was in style
The future's brighter, when hearts are lighter
So smile, smile, smile

Powder your face with sunshine
Put on a great big smile
Make up your eyes with laughter
Folks will be laughing with you in a little while

Whistle a tune of gladness
Blue never was in style
The future's brighter, when hearts are lighter
Smile, smile, smile

Future's brighter, hearts are lighter
When you're wearing a great big smile

a FANTASTIC performer! Even now, he's a minister now but, he's STILL ROCKIN'

My all time favorite Florida songs would be anything sung buy Jimmy Buffett. I remember when his music was played everywhere in South Florida and Key West was a real haven for parrot heads. I have so many great memories of just hanging out in the old Key West of the 70's, 80's and 90's.

I still celebrate Jimmy once a year at my favorite nudist resort. It's called Parrot Head Weekend and draws a crowd over the country. A bunch of naked people partying and having fun with plenty of drinking. I'm not a drinker but enjoy the sites and sounds of people just feeling free. It's coming up soon ... July 23 through the 26th

Here's a link to my favorite respite spot ... don't worry about packing, all you need is a towel

Now just cold champagne and warm pool and fresh ocean! Are here any crocodiles in pools? Not the one in your pants... but how common it is have crocodile crowling to pool with you together! Just saw in line how one old man was trying to move out of his property crocodile n wrapped crocodile head with some fabric and started pool it... How stupid it was! Guess what crocodile done!? So who it was boys on news? Who here can put down crocodile with bare hands? At list believes that it is possible... tell stories please! One of my favorite songs is not about Florida but it reminds me of Florida. It's "Good Morning Starshine" by Oliver. Way back in 1969 my father was on an extended work assignment in Ft Lauderdale. During our summer vacation of that year my mother drove my brother and I half way across the country to visit with him for 2 weeks. We had the most fun a 10 and 9 year old could ever have and Mom certainly enjoyed getting "back to her man" as she said every 100 miles or so. Anyway, this song was a hit in America that summer and it played on the AM radio so many times on our trip and we never got tired of it. We spent the 2 weeks in an apartment only 1 block off the beach and it was a time I will never forget. Every time I hear that song it takes me back to the summer of 1969 and the wonderful state of Florida, which is now where I've lived for the past 13 years.
