Very rarely unless leaving boston do I plan in advance . My work and life in general doesn't really afford me this luxury. I pm'd nikki Irish weeks in advance then was unable to make it to see her , fortunately I never scheduled anything so I wasn't considered a cancel. Nonetheless I get a 10 to 24 hour window and that's it so I basically need some luck to get what I want.
I have good regular ladies that accommodate me and that helps. In 14 years I don't believe I've ever outright cancelled. Traffic has made me reschedule 45 minutes or so occasionally but that's it.

Any idea why all the hotels are booked in the boston area? Any idea why when I finally secure one there are nothing but cancellations?
I'm clueless. Not to mention sad and lonely

No such thing as "secure" in Boston

No shows, cancelations last minutes

ask some of the hottest ladies n the area

They are no stranger to disappointment

I just don't get it myself....never had issues like this til recently and you are not alone its everyone.
I see a great deal of newbies coming into this hobby and they don't see canceling as an issue, so they will make appts even though they know when they make them there's great uncertainty they will not be able to keep them, so they then simply cancel they think if they didn't NCNS its all good.
I have no idea how anyone got the idea its OK to over book dbl book or book knowing you most likely won't be able to make it...
They feel if they wait we are then unavailable...
There's no respect for our time.

Its not everyone but its a growing issue.

Cancellations with proper notice with a valid reason seems acceptable as long as it's not repetitive.
No shows is definitely unacceptable and I hope providers take note of the offenders and make it known to other providers when checking references.
With accepting to see newbies there is always going to be an unknown level of risk and of course backing out at the last minute when they over think things.

I've been fortunate to never have had to cancel and definitely never a no-show. I have had to change appt times by 15 or 30 min because of work or traffic. I have been cancelled on because the provider didn't have enough incall appts, twice for family emergencies and another cancellation that was an incall appt but the provider changed to outcall only on day of appt. So for the most part I've had good luck as I tend to only see reliable independents or quality agency.

I've actually come to love Boston for my lack of cancellations!  I know other places that I've gone, it seemed to be the culture.

Sorry for such troubles!

Suggestion: When Boston hotel prices are out of control, I'd suggest hooking up with a provider who has an established permanent incall and seeing if you can buy some days off of her.  Especially if she's not planning on working that day, it makes for a little profit on a day when you'd have none otherwise.

The last 2 providers I have seen said it has been VERY slow and the cancelations are at a all time high .. I'm not sure if it's the time of year or sign of the times .

This is rather discouraging. I am new to the Boston area and wanted to meet some new gentleman. Maybe its the season or just a string of bad luck. Think positive and continue to be innovative and things will turn around. :)

I think its a little of both.  July is usually a slow sales month as people are on vacation and other things come up with families or SO's.  I have seen it in my business as well.  Heck its summer time.  Its harder to hide.  Lol. Costs are up for providers and therefore they pass it on to us.  Boston hotels are crazy expensive in the summer.  I tend to use my discretionary money elsewhere because there are more places to go or more things to do.  Hell it just nice going out and hanging when it is warm out.

Just my thoughts. ...

Interesting thread, especially given the supply vs. demand imbalance in our Boston hotel "market."

Has anyone in Boston noticed a difference in client cancellation frequency between appointments made several days (or weeks) ahead of time and those made a day or two before meeting?

I am finding that clients who plan at a longer range keep their appointments more reliably ... and almost never NCNS me. Is capability to accept delayed gratification a factor? LOL

Find some plan in advance seem to book in fear that you may not have any more availability. Knowing they may not be able to make the appointment. Just cancel if the schedule doesn't allow it
I noticed this more so if the lady books up quickly

No call no shows seem to mainly be first time clients, and we expect a call morning of the appointment to confirm otherwise I give the time away

There are more cancellations all the way across the board.

I'm thinking the ones who plan a week or two out aren't contacting multiple ladies to make a visit. There's plenty of time to send a message, wait for a response, line things up, etc. Whereas a guy looking for "later tonight" or even "tomorrow afternoon" is probably contacting multiple ladies (in case they don't get a response from the first one contacted) and that I suspect leads to cancellations and double booking and all those things.

I've always assumed I'm in the minority however with the advance planning bit. 5-10 days out generally works well for me. I've never yet had to cancel. Though I did have a car unexpectedly break down on the way back after seeing someone. Glad it was after and not before.

Because of my work I don't know when I will get time to play. So the week I think I might get away I look for 2 girls that I might like to see. I make contact and ask to get pre verified so I may see them at a later date. After they get back to me and tell me that I'm all set I just wait for the right time. When I know I'm free I call my first choice  and see if she's available within the next couple of hours. If not I move to my next choice. If she can't see me either I call one of the agencies that I use. I just don't want to make an appointment and have to break it. Its not fair to you ladies and its not good for my reputation. A couple of weeks ago I made an appointment against my better judgement and the night before I had to call the woman and cancel.  The woman in question is a very classy woman and told me not to worry about it. To this day it still bothers me.

Ya I really don't book in advance really either, but I'm from the area. Obv if you are traveling to Boston you are more likely to book in advance. Everyone is saying it is so slow right now.

I hope this doesn't happen to me when I come to visit
- I posted something similar in DC thread which I got a lot of negative comments ( I mentioned how there's so many cancellations and wasted time in DC as of lately) maybe it's the month of July

There aren't enough Hotels in Boston and they get overbooked during holidays, during May and June (college graduations) and during late August and early September (school year starting).

If you can't get in Boston proper, try Cambridge.  There are plenty of good Hotels in Cambridge and they are within easy commute distance from downtown Boston.   Also, look for some of the boutique hotels - don't restrict yourself to the major hotels.
