hi all

1)  Have been many posts about reaching out to stars and hobbying while there - has anyone tried the show as way to get contacts for later?  think tough prob to have a 24-48 hour window between meeting, hoping they are receptive, circling back and then finding a time to rendezvous at a crazy show.  However, thought perhaps, just saying hi and saying "i would love to have dinner sometime back in ____.  Compensated of course" or "I would like to buy you a gift"......you could see who you click with and leave with contacts to follow-up later.   I've booked through big agencies, so assume would go that way if actually wanted hook up there.

2)  I can only be there Friday afternoon and evening...missing the VIP window.   Can do show and parties, but is it a total mad house?    Assume yes, but to the point of unpleasantness?  Are there less famous girls not mobbed where conversations possible?

3)  Is a suite pass worth it?

4)  Paranoid question, but is there a big risk of getting randomly photographed at the expo?   would be a nightmare showing up in a marketing picture - and certainly wouldn't put it by dicey parents at school browsing AVN and other sites.   Was considering wearing one of those big fake noses with moustache and a glasses

Hi,
For the 1st question, I actually met the first PS i had a session with at the expo itself (we did a session 2 months later) so it is possible to get contacts but you have to be discrete as the girls are watched by their agents and others while at the show itself
In answer to question 2, its very busy on Friday as its the day before the award show itself and there are many new and upandcoming PS that sign there that few know of and do enjoy talking to the fans. I'm not saying she does escort but AJ Applegate was rather lonely that few came and talked to her last January.
Question 3 - ive not tried the suite pass but i dont think its worth it esp if youre hoping to have time alone to talk to a particular PS, I can sense it'll be mobbed in that suite often.
Question 4 - theres a disclaimer on the AEE expo site and enterances stating that photographing does occur there and your image/likeness may end up in other trade publications, pictures, et. al.

I've been to AVN twice, once just for a couple of days, the next year I shared a booth with a performer to promote her website and my business. (Interestingly enough, AdultCon worked better for promoting my business because there were a lot more locals from LA, whereas attendees at AVN were from everywhere). Anyhoo, my comments are also skewed by the latter occasion, being there as PART of it and having a vendor pass is a much different experience. In order:

1. Yes girls are there to "do privates" but as you point out, it is a narrow window of opportunity and all of the girls, especially any of the bigger names, are being pulled in 10 different directions the whole weekend. Depending on who they're signing for and their other obligations, it could be tough to find someone who is available, especially at the drop of a hat. Your idea of approaching the girls while there is fraught with peril. Vegas vice is hyper about enforcing their prostitution laws so any of the girls who are aware of that will be very guarded. Obviously, there's  something to the the old, "nothing ventured, nothing gained, if I ask and she says no, I'm in no worse shape than if I hadn't asked, right?" approach. Do it very discreetly and be prepared to be shut down hard.  If you are set on seeing a well-known star, you may want to try to set that up ahead of time.

2. I never went to the show and the parties, a bunch of people in the industry would all hang out at the same bar every night so that was plenty of meet and greet. The place can be a madhouse and whether it's unpleasant would be a real hit-and-miss call. Your last question in this paragraph has the best thought: lower the bar a bit and your chance of success can potentially skyrocket. The first morning I was as the both at AVN, the lovely blonde girl about 6' tall drifted past the booth. I turned into a carnival huckster and got her over to talk. Turns out she had done a few scenes, wasn't there with anyone and was looking to get more connected. I suggested that she come back the next three days with some head shots, be there right at 10 and she would have guys undivided attention until the diva I was with got down to the booth, probably around 1 or so. She did so, we had a great time and found out she has an oral fixation. Point being, zeroing in on a newer girl who's all excited just to be there has significant advantages.

3) Can't help you there, but would depend on the cost. My thinking would be possibly not, depending on the talent/attendee ratio.

4) Absolutely you could have you picture taken. It's a public venue, cameras are everywhere, hell that's a big reason they do these shows so anyone who walks in could be fair game. Check out the clip from AdultCon a few years ago, that should answer your question.

I'm going to the AVN , my first time

I am going to have a crack at arranging a meet with the porn stars at the expo but i'm not fussed if it doesn't happe

I went to a couple of the suite parties last year, and one was OK and one sucked.  Friday is the day of the white party which all the ladies want to attend.  The suite party will in all likelyhood be booth babes who work the Vegas conventions not porn stars.  (That was my experience last year)  You may have a better chance of making a connection with one of them, but I doubt any porn stars will be there.
