As a newby with only two reviews on another well known site, (one of which I wrote myself..LOL), my question is: How on earth does one get the rep if most gentlemen will not see one who does not have a review? I specialize in GFE...any advice?

It's a mutual problem, isn't it?  But it's in everybodys best interests to ensure safety.  IMHO, it must come first.

I would think until you DO have client references, the best thing would be to talk with some of your local provider "colleagues" - maybe do some duo things with an established provider - and if possible maybe have them vouch for you.

BTW, have a website??

Best,

FF

I'd try to find other means of advertising your availability and services.  Post to the TER discussion board for your area. Create a website (rare-escort.com has a decent one, and it's free).  Run some ads -- some venues are low-cost, or even free; Craigslist gets a bad rap for some of the ripoff artists that dwell there, but you'd be surprised how many people peruse the ads pretty closely.  Hang out in TER Chat.  Spring for the TER VIP membership, so that you can see all the details of reviews, and you will be able to send and receive Private Messages here.

With sufficient visibility, the reviews will come.  I'd avoid offering a "reviewer discount", as that can lend the appearance of a "quid pro quo" tradeoff, but an "introductory special" often seems to do wonders for bringing in business and reviews.

by admitting to writing a self-review.  That is fraudulent behavior on your part, and no laughing matter.

TER treats cases of self-reviews very seriously, and is justification for delisting the provider and the removal of all of her reviews.

I believe ATL-mgr has voiced the opinion of many regular hobbyists, now I'll share from a providers point of view.

For a woman to get into this biz for a quick buck, might seem like a good deal to her.... to an experienced hobbyist it should be a BIG red flag. Most of the regular clients that frequent an established provider are not looking solely for satisfaction. When a woman is looking for a quick buck, what other avenues might she be willing to explore for financial gain.......

For a provider to satisfy her client is just the tip of the ice or the surface of many levels of service. Performance and appearance may be the foundation of a providers service but reliability and dependability are just as effective marketing. To provide physical safety both to him from a bodily standpoint as well as a legal stand point are just as important. To ensure a clients lifestyle as well as protect his family & business life are also characteristics of a true provider.

I am asked fairly often  what a woman can do to establish herself quickly with a large customer base.... my answer is always the same, dependability and consistency.

There is no "quick" or "fast" way to gain the life experiences that are needed to head off a potential problem for a client. Understanding safe guards and the behavior involved with discretion is an acquired behavior, taken in many cultures to the extreme of a learned art. It is fortunate in our society that there are numerous successful providers who are willing to offer their suggestions and insight but there is no comparison to life experiences. Mentoring is the faster and most dependable method (which has been known for centuries) It might still be 2006 and you might still have information available at your finger tips but executing these characteristics is an entirely different conversation.

A reputation is something you have to earn..... and trying to do so through falsifying experience is nothing but a short cut to a quick end of a career. The reviews will follow if you are sincere about your desires and recognize what clients need. If you educate yourself and research everything available on line by established providers you will be on your way to a very lucrative profession. If you are looking for a quick $$ then my only comment is that you will probably not have longevity in this biz. The money might be there but you will never have the following and the security that comes with being an established and reputable provider.

These are just my thoughts..... best wishes in all your endeavors.... kisses ~Tori

I post on Craig's List offering to see new honest providers who would like their first review.  It makes for a great time and I get to meet the most wonderful girls!  I love this hobby!  If you ever come to Minneapolis, I'll see you.

Amoria, you cannot post messages on TER that include a link to your web site unless it meets the TER Ad Posting Guidelines, which require (among other things) that your contact information be listed on your web site.  Please see the link below for details.

You may also wish to check out the "Newbies -- READ ME FIRST!!" post near the top of the page, which contains links to a wealth of information and resources.

Thanks!

Okay everyone, thanks for your forbearance.  I'd especially like to thank Tori and Captain Midnight for your well-expressed responses. I have to admit, hunger has been a driving factor in my rush to succeed in this endeavor.  However, I am not, repeat, not, in this for a quick buck.  The more I delve into TER, the more I find a fascination with the culture that has developed here.  Longtime friends, comfortable with each other, mix with newbies like me.  I love the idea of a mentor...any takers? I had the good fortune to end up in a chat room one day with SexyCarolina. I learned something just by listening.  Reading her  reviews gave me a good idea of the kind of lady it takes to be a special companion for men. I will take all of this to heart (in a good way), and go back and read the directions...oh how I despise having to slow down and be patient.  There goes my stomach...growwwwwllll....LOL...As soon as I can do so and remain anonymous for my family's sake, I will post contact info on my website. Posting a self review is wrong...sorry...but as someone else posted, youve possibly now tainted your reputation by doing so.  Eventually this post will be lost in the archives and forgotten about, but the ones that read it while its active will probably be dissuaded from seeing you.

Ive been an indy for one year now, and my reviews have just started over the past few months, true, alot of men wont see providers without reviews, and many of my friends just arent reviewers...

The only way to make a good name for yourself is to be honest and prove yourself as to what you advertise, the reviews will come in time.

Good Luck, and NO MORE self reviewing...Hey, Im so good I call out my OWN name, but I would never review myself!  :)
