Do you have any negative side effects of taking the shots.  And is it expensive?  My insurance will not cover it because my t- score is a little too high.  My level goes from Working to nothing.

for the last 18 months my performance and firmness has noticably gone down  ( no  pun intended .. or maybe a little)
even with blue pill assistance.

i took this as a normal occurrence at my near 60 ish age ..   well i recently went to my urologist for an unrelated matter and he asked if my libido was low as my testosterone levels were low ...  well yeah !    so going on appropriate meds this month and will be interesting to see what happens ...   then again the low levels were saving me money !   LOL

one sees commercials about this but i never took them seriously ..    of course i will be taking real medicine not the "supplements" they sell on late night TV.

so i mention this for others over 50 doesn't hurt to check this.

Testosterone decreases in all people as we age.

If the levels get too low, zero libido is just one side effect.

Many women are estrogen dominant, with very little testosterone, because of years of taking BCP's etc..
It is not healthy.

In diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's there are extremely low levels in patients.

It's really important to get a hold of this problem, before it takes a hold of you.

So glad you have a proactive Dr

Last year, but I noticed my interest in sex has diminished too.  However, some of that could be that I have had a lot of fun the last year with some nice ladies from this site and what do you do for an encore?  I do like nice massages from cute young women.

But also include a healthy diet, and exercise in some kinda daily regiment. You'll feel better. Also look into Beet Juice...trust me on that.

TRT

Testosterone levels  decrease with age as rapidly as 0.4–2% annually after age 30 years.

Prescription of Testosterone Replacement Therapy  has increased 5 times in the last three decades, realizing increased revenues from US$18 million in the 1980s to US$2 billion in 2015.

It is good to hear you are seeing a urologist. Hormones are something they deal with regularly, especially in this regard. There are many doctors prescribing TRT without any training or experience in endocrinology whatsoever.  Unfortunately, medicine is a business and business is about money.  We all know what that means.

Anyone considering TRT you may want to know:

Is your free testosterone level being measured or your serum (overall)l?

What else was tested?

How many times were you tested to determine your diagnosis?

How often will you be tested thereafter and what will the test consist of?

What training and experience does your doctor have with this? Are they an endocrinologist?

Is anything else being prescribed or recommended in addition to the testosterone?
Supplements? Diet? Lifestyle? Activity?

What kind of testosterone? synthetic?"bioidentical"?

Do you know the potential side effects?

How long will you be on it?

What happens if you quit?

I hope this therapy does everything you want it to and more. I  will be tuned in to hear about the progress you are making.  I find it very interesting.

...new drugs, they have to find a market for it.  For example, for many years, high cholesterol was considered to be anything above 300.  But when statin drugs flooded the market, all of a sudden high cholesterol was lowered to anything over 200.

The same thing happened with blood pressure drugs.  HBP used to be over 140/90.  Now it's 120/80 so they could push all the new HBP meds.

And do you think it's a coincidence that most pharmaceutical reps are young gorgeous women who do "outcalls" to the offices of old fart doctors?

Are very good for your cholesterol and you can purchase them in the nutritional area of your grocery store.  I believe garlic oil is supposed to help your blood pressure.

Big Pharma is making everyone sick.  You go on one drug and you have to use another to help with the side effects.  I do have to take a blood pressure pill.  It helps to keep it down, but as you get older the parameters change and 140/90 is okay if you are sixty or older.

your testosterone levels up naturally is to keep challenging your body to build muscle mass.  I hit the gym four days a week since I was 30 and am now mid-50's.  My doctor says I have the testosterone levels of a 35-year-old, so before you start putting drugs into your body, you should try it the old fashioned way.  Just the opinion of a guy who hates the idea of drugs in my body.

Now a glass of fine wine, that's different.  Lol
