If I get caught?

Of course I am a newbie. I tried a search, but some reason i didnt come up with anything. Now finally I am going to post here.

What happens if I get caught in a LE setup? What I am faced with? and how long is the punishment? Thanks ahead of time.

Unfortunately, that is not a question that has one single answer. The charges that you may face, and the penatlies associated with those charges vary wildly from state to state.

My suggestion is to pose this question on a regional board and ask for information from others in your area. The information you get may be much more accurate for your area.

Real life lawyers occasionally answer questions there. If not lawyers, members that have large amounts of experience with laws will venture an answer.
The best course is to avoid getting caught. Many members have hobbied for decades and have never come near an arrest for soliciting. Do research on this site to choose professional providers (no loud arguments about services or rates in hotel hallways, no muscle lurking around to draw unwanted attention, ect). Avoid streetwalkers completely, they are cop magnets because they often work in locations that warrant stepped up police activity. I suggest that you also avoid massage parlors.

use that right and DO NOT talk to LE at ALL!!!

NO matter what they say, just invoke your right to remian silent, so you don't incriminate yourself.

The charge is a low grade, non violent misdemeanor. You'll pay a fine, be sent to a "Hooker Aversion" class and be put on non monitored probation where if you're popped again during it's term they slap your wrists harder the second time.

90% of the LE effort is to scare the beegebers out of ya'. They PRAY that you are married so that they can dangle the threat of public humiliation and divorce in your face.
LE and the courts count on the fact that you'll want to pay the fine and get it behind you as fast as possible. That is one of the reasons why the fine is thousands less than the cost of an attorney to exonerate you.

In my younger more naive days I got popped twice in stings. If it were to ever happen again I'd just tell the coppers to hurry up filling out the ticket cause I got better things to do.

Were you actually taken to the local jail and locked up?  Or were you just given a citation on the spot (or at the police station)?  If you were locked up, how long before you got to make your phone call?  Arrange for bail, etc?  What state did you get "popped" in?  How much were your fines?  You talk like an expert, let's see some more answers.

I was tagged, bagged and booked at the scene. Then released and sent home from the sting(s) with a "ticket" aka 'promise to appear'. Then off to a Kangaroo Court with an agenda for revenue and not jurisprudence. Fines were about $400 with 3 years un-monitored probation. Hooker aversion class was as dry and banal as 'driver's ed' class'

I don't know if it's better or worse now, and I don't want to find out. That is why I herald TER, all I have learned, and the respective security found herein.
