you will miss out on all the brilliant light that makes up the world. Is it a perfect place, of course not.

I have been to all seven continents and 71 countries. All around the world there are wonderful people. I have broken bread with people that barely had a pot to pee in. Yet they insisted, since I was their guest, to take the best piece of meat. Had I declined it would have been an insult to them.

Sure there are bad ones and right now they seem to dominate the headlines. Yet there is so much good in the world. Wonderful art, food, wine. Watching a hard fought rugby game between the All blacks and Springboks, that ends with handshakes and good will to all. I could go on but I won't.

I am a glass half full guy, in case you didn't guess.

I will close with something my dad told me. He was a WWII bomber pilot for the U.S. based in Italy. He was coming home from one of the bloodiest battles of the war. His plane was shot up, three crew wounded, they all made it, and to him he saw an amazing sight. The way the waters of the Adriatic Sea simmered from the late afternoon sun. In the middle of all that carnage nature put on a wonderful show of beauty.

It's ok to look for the light.
