This year’s trip to Thailand was to Phuket, the Island paradise on the Pacific coast. I stayed in the town of Patong, which contains Soi Bangla (aka Bangla Street), the hot spot for the activity we all know and love. The number of beer bars, go go clubs and discos within the space of a few blocks is simply overwhelming. And all are full of women (and ladyboys) looking for an encounter. There’s a combination of free-lancers, with no allegiance to any venue, bar girls and go go dancers whose job is to lure customers in and sell drinks. You can take them out by paying a “bar fine,” which varies by bar and time of night. My flight arrived well after midnight, and by the time I got to my hotel it was about 2:00 am. No matter, I had to check out the famous street, about a 10 minute walk from my hotel. I was under the impression that the go-go and beer bars were closed by then, with the discos still open. I was misinformed (as Humphrey Bogart once said); everything was wide open and rocking. At that hour, the gawkers were gone and only the die-hard punters remained. I had an unsatisfactory negotiation with a beer bar babe, and before long, was approached by a free-lancer. She was cute and slim, and wanted the equivalent of $30 for an hour. So back to my hotel we went. I usually approach these encounters with low expectations, not really expecting GFE. I was pleasantly surprised; she was great! She was in her early thirties, in contrast to the younger ones populating the bars. I gave her a $15 tip and called in a night (or morning). The next night I started around 11:00, and first checked out a few go-go bars. Prices were higher than I liked, probably because it was early. (Note to self: don’t try to bar-fine a dancer too early; they’re needed at the bar). I was soon approached by another free-lancer who was very direct; she said “let’s go back to your hotel.” She wanted $45, so off we went. Again I hit the jackpot with a GFE. She was Vietnamese, and I’ve always had good luck with Viet women. I took her phone number for future reference. I took off the third night, having come in late from a show and feeling a need for a breather. Feeling lazy on the fourth night, I SMS’ed my Viet friend and we had another fine time. On the fifth night, I was again accosted by my friend from the first night, and figured a bird in the hand, etc. On my last night, I started very late, figuring had I had a better chance of taking away a bar girl. I had a lot of fun with a cute bar girl who embraced and kissed, but when it came time to leave, she informed me that she was having her period! It would have been nice it she told that two lady drinks earlier. So I picked up another free-lancer who was tall for a Thai – ladyboy alert! But she assured me that she was a female and showed me her ID card (not that I could read Thai)! She also wanted $45, so back we went to my hotel, but she was disappointing – a quick fuck but no GFE. To summarize, a great week lots of sun and sex. Oh, it’s also a beautiful spot, with crystal-clear water and plenty of great sightseeing and activities.
