I'm actually heading back next weekend for another one!

i went a few weeks ago.. from the concert at the borgata, to the table at mixx, to the after after party... no complaints here. i just moved back east from vegas at the end of the may.. and atlantic city works for me.

i can find great restaurants, ride rides, lay on the beach, great (no tax) shopping, catch a concert, do some gambling, get my dance on.

it does have it sad parts. two trips ago we took a helicopter ride over the city and we could notice gaps and just how empty it looked, but vegas had the same issues. for the past 7 years it has been non stop construction. a lot of being stuck at a stand still for one reason or another. vegas is a great city, its close to my heart, but there are a lot of negatives about it as well. they have the luck that they are the city within the state that brings in the money so they get the attention. :) i think if mgm would go in and take one of the vacant properties it would help. who knows.

hotel rooms are still going for sky high and i still see people having fancy dinners and gambling at $100 blackjack tables, lines for valet and the check in at the hotel when we went a few weeks ago was just under 2000 check ins that day and their capacity is just over 2500! some people waited hours to check in the line that zip zagged. thankfully my players card lets us skip all of that. :)

i only wish i would be there for the air show, but ill take the weekend! :)
xx

I wonder if Atlantic City will ever go back to be what it used to be. I mean, I know AC is no Las Vegas but still. It was our vegas for us east coasters.

Gambling will never be the engine that drives prosperity there.  There are too many casinos closer to home for most people.  So thy need to be attracted by the beach and the restaurants.

True. AC never did a decent job promoting the beach or bringing shows to town. I was just there recently and I was sad to see how dead it is :-(
