Dear 2ndBaseman,

Here are the culprits:

1. Your age

2. The BP meds

3. The cholesterol meds

4. The condom, which I'm assuming you are using

As far as your SO of almost 30 years - well, you could probably get yourself off with her in your sleep - you know exactly which buttons need to get pushed. With a provider, added excitement can translate into unconscious performance anxiety, plus the factors above.

What to do:

1. Consult with your physician and tell him/her that you can't get an erection and ask for a change in meds. Oftentimes, patients remain on the tried-and-true for years. Meanwhile, new products with less side effects come on the market; if you don't tell your doc, however, s/he wll keep you on the things that work.

2. Watch some soft porn while you're at it with a provider, in addition to doing as much uncovered as possible and as much as your risk tolerance permits. Book longer appointments - it's difficult to get all sexed up against the pressure of doing things in 60 minutes.

3. Begin to exercise and raise your testosterone levels. HIgh BP tells me you're not moving around enough - hard training is what raises T-levels naturally. Other than that, discuss T-supplementation with your physician. The most important thing for erections is GOOD HEALTH and NO BP OR CHOLESTEROL MEDS.

The last few times I"ve seen a provider, I've been unable to get a decent erection.
I take a daily cialis pill. I also take 2 meds for blood pressure and 1 for cholesteral. Not sure if the BP meds are the problem or what.
The thing is I can get a great erection watching soft porn or with my SO of almost 30 years.
So, sounds like it's all in my head...doesn't it ?
The providers have tried their best....just really frustrating for both of us.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks.

You should try injection therapy.  It's not as scary as it sounds and works like a charm or a charmer!
See a Urologist.

Hi there!  Have you tried watching porn with a provider.  I have offered that in the past and its always a blast.  It sounds like it may be a case of nerves :-(  You are comfortable with your SO and with porn but maybe being with someone new is making you nervous.  In that case I suggest finding 1 provider that you are extremely attracted to and ask her to be patient with you.  A good one will be and will probably have you at attention in no time.  If you are ever in the DC/Boston are let me know.  I think I might be able to help!

Muah!
