some details:
Massage parlors turn up more and more thanks to websites that allow these types of businesses to flourish...and XXX’s business neighbors grew suspicious as they saw an increase in client traffic.

XXX was advertising her sexual services on Craigslist and other sites known to attract clients. A phone number on the red sign [out front] matched a phone number spotted on Craigslist, raising the suspicions of police as they continued their investigation.

Shortly before the raid an undercover officer visited the massage parlor after police had been conducting surveillance of the business for more than a week.
“There was an agreement that more than a massage would take place,” the City Marshal said.

The Eagle-Tribune article had a lot of detail worth paying attention to:

According to the Newburyport police Inspector investigation into activities at XXX began a year ago, when police began receiving anonymous letters complaining of “unlawful sexual misconduct” at the massage parlor.  Most cited Craigslist as their source, as well as another adult website that provided reviews of “erotic massage parlors,” listed by city and state.

Police searched that website for Newburyport establishments and was given the listing of XXX, located in one of the eight units in the professional office building.

Police found three online reviews in which men claimed they received more than the standard therapeutic massage at XXX.

Interesting that police are using reviews.

and also...
A man found naked on a massage table was not arrested but is cooperating as a witness.  Another man just walking in the door at the time of the raid [in the wrong place at the wrong time :-( ] was also not arrested but is now cooperating as a witness.
