the actual opinion is here...Under Vivid Entertainment Vs. Fielding..

So they'll move filming to a different state where there are no restrictions.  Big deal.  All the California legislature has done is lose a billion dollar industry and all the tax dollars and other revenue that goes with it.

Did you go into hibernation in early November?  The big Red Wave, for better or worse, has taken power in most states and the last thing they will allow is a porn industry.  Moreover, this isn't like outsourcing factory production to another state or country.  You need "skilled" local workers or talent.

As far as "skilled" labor goes Vegas isn't that far for most of them to travel are relocate to . A large amount of filming takes place there already like internet giant Brazzers .
NV has always struck me as more a "green" state then red or blue . So I'm sure they'ed be more then happy to take more of the porn industry's money, God bless them .

You might be right but the hard right conservatives that have taken over in Nevada after the November ain't going to be friendly to the porn industry

Plus the hard right play book has a number of priorities above this one:  Abortion,  gay rights,  rolling back voting rights,  open carry laws and anti-immigration laws are probably higher on the list. But they'll get back to their anti-porn crusade eventually.  Look for a second Meese Report from the GOP Congress or some enterprising Red State AG.

the new AG nominee, Loretta Lynch when she has her hearing next year in the 114th Congress...Will they make pornography a point of their questioning - that remains to be seen...GOP controls senate now so they not only can defeat judicial or executive nominees, they don't even have to bring them to the floor for a vote....The Senate Majority Leader calls the shots, he can bring up a nominee (or not) whenever he wants to..

Nine states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. So Las Vegas is included in the ban for condomless porn films. Some of the companies are moving out of the country.

The ruling does not create a law requiring condoms in porn films in the 9th circuit.

The municipality needs to pass a law, like Ventura County (county NW of LA), for a ban to exist in their jurisdiction.

Sorry but there are many states (some of them even "red" states) that already have porn filming going on within their borders.  And, btw, the filming doesn't have to be in the U.S.  Mexico, Canada, and other locales are also options for the industry.

As for having "local" talent - that's pure bs and shows you don't know the industry.  The industry already flies girls all over to do shooting - girls who live in L.A. have been shooting in NY, NJ, NV, FL, and other states for years, as well as outside the U.S.

When most people think of movies (and I'm not talking about porn now) they think of Los Angeles and "Hollywood".  The movie industry started in NJ.  If it weren't for stupid laws, and stupidity on the part of the state, the movie industry would never have looked elsewhere to build studios and might never have landed in "Hollywood".  There's no reason why stupid laws can't cause the porn industry to move from California to another state.  And, in the end, California will be crying over all the money they lost from that move, the same as NJ cried when Hollywood took over and the mainstream movie industry became huge.

So a 17 year old can go see a "mainstream" movie that has vivid, graphic depictions of mindless violence where people are blown up or shot to pieces . . . Or a younger person could watch an episode of CSI with their amazing graphics of how bullets pass through organs . . . But two consenting adults can't be filmed having sex without a condom?  Seems totally logical to me.

Glad to see our legislators doing a fine job and that our tax dollars and the time of various government employees will be well spent.  I'd certainly prefer more inspections of condom use in "adult" movies than, say, hospital, construction or food safety or infrastructure conditions on our roads, bridges, tunnels, water and gas pipelines, etc.  I'm sure the inspectors will prefer their new duties over thier old ones too.  In fact, the new job description sounds so riveting I might have to apply.
