Thanks for the tips! What would be your favorite place to get a nice wine and matching charcuterie board in the city? I really love the west loop area because it does have a lot of lovely European imports but I also love the restaurant Avec because it's modern and not super stuffy and has lovely wines and boards!

Damn, this is May weather!  SO's out of town and I'm sitting on the patio, iPad tuned to TER, red wine in hand, dog in lap (poor guy's getting older and the outside scares him), it's 70 degrees out with a light breeze and I'm contemplating whether or not I'm too lazy to get the fire going.  Life is good at this precise moment, but what would make it epic would be if I could magically "poof" a provider to the couch across from me and have my way with her without the neighbors being any the wiser.  The clandestine nature of the hobby bugs me at times like this...must have been cool to live in Pompeii where it was out in the open and a normal part of life...well, before the volcano anyway!

Enjoy this perfect evening Chicago!

I have a transporter here if anyone needs it

How lovely and poetics your posts are. I enjoy them, what is your favorite kind of red wine? Im always interested in learning more about wines, I want to become a wine snob haha

Ok Lola,

Since you asked about wines, I'll give you just a couple of tips.

Cabs: A little on the dry side (not as much as a Merlot) but Great if you're having Steak. If fact  you'd like a really Bold Cab like Caymus or Silver Oak or Far Niente with a good steak.

Pino Noir: A little lighter and more fruity than a Cab. Ideal wine in the afternoon with apps, cheese, etc.

Lot's of bitching on this board about cost/experience but in Wine sometimes it really does matter.

Silver Oak? Far Niente?  You must be SO sophisticated to be drinking wines from such amazing houses.  Look man, any idiot can order Far Niente and say "ooh, look at the great wine I paid too much for," the real skill is picking the unknown bottles that are as good or better.

Don't worry about labels, that's a nouveau riche thing.  Personally for an intro red I'd go with a fruit forward Pinot Noir from the Sonoma region...but that's just me, really the only way to know wine is to drink wine.  The most amazing wine I ever tried was served on a card table in a run down barn.

Thank you!mi really appreciate the tips. Whenever my french friends are in town they always bring me a bottle of wine and it's amazing the mark up on wine! (Just like most luxury items...;) but the French think it's hilarious how a $20 bottle of wine there is like 200-300 here and it's not even wine they consider amazing. So I definitely understand the idea of just reading a wine label and assuming it's amazing based off the name of it. It could be call "Le Merde" and people would fawn over it because it's french and it would literally translate as "Shit" lol

Start going to wine tastings the more wine you taste the more you will learn and find the type and style you prefer.  It is easy to find a great wine all you have to do is pay for it.
It is a lot harder to find a great and affordable every day wine

Yeah I could.... But I'm only 20 so I'll have to wait until my birthday in October when I'm 21. Haha but yes I would love that!

an accountant or financial advisor or insurance...you see where I'm going, that would be stopping in?  Having your house cleaned?  So many ways to sneak someone in.  Like anything else, easiest to do it boldly.  ;)

xo,
Marie

All it takes is a phone call. The neighbors don't need to know she's paid.

The OP has an SO that apparently lives with him. I think it's a terrible idea to have a woman over to the home you share with an SO and fuck another woman in HER bed.

Most women are very sensitive to smell, and can literally smell the other woman that's been in their bed.

Now if the OP were unattached, I would agree with your advice completely, I have hookers over to my house all the time, but I don't give two shits what my neighbors think and more importantly I am very happily divorced and there is no one to "catch me" doing anything wrong.
