I Agree with london..crawling with roaches on 2 as well as 4 legs.. xo annie

areas of New Orleans to stay in while in town? I was thinking uptown and the French Quarter. Is it a good idea to visit Metarie as well or should I just skip that all together? Thanks!

Traffic is insane, hotels over 3 stars are lacking (think there is ONLY one actually and it requires a key card for the elevator) and it will take you 30 min. to drive 3 miles at the wrong time of day. Stay Uptown...simply the best place to live and work. Local guys will say Metairie, but they are not the ones spending the most money...you want to be where VISITORS can easily get to you by cab or street car, and that is downtown and uptown.

Amen to that London.  I miss your crazy ass!  If you like cheap Mother humpers, advertise on that other board and you will get biz in Metairie.

It's true that many local guys prefer Metairie and sometimes I will host there on a weekend day when the hotels in the city are really expensive.  I don't do it a lot, but it has worked out well for me before.

Zoey, do you live here?

No, but I visit often, and sometimes sublet when I'm in town and stay for a month at a time.  So I've figured out some things that work for me in the area and some that don't.  I was just in town for a month but left to head to NYC for November.  I'll be back though.  :)
