We can keep each other motivated.  I've been very active my entire life...and this had me laying on the floor after, with tears and sweat dripping down my face and asking myself what just happened.

This was me to myself this morning.

Ok guys,

I just wanted to share my latest obsession!  As some of you know, I lead a busy life, juggling a day job, my hobby fun, as well as school.  Lately it's been difficult for me to ALSO throw in a workout.  I've been into fitness for years and usually prefer a mix of olympic lifting and cardio, which you may know takes a lot of time and dedication.  Well, I've now found HIIT.

Different exercise regimes come and go...and this is not a recent fad.  It involves some of the same ideas as crossfit, thus I'm sure most will have strong feelings one way or another regarding it.  I'm neither a healthcare professional nor a personal trainer, so I'm not putting my endorsement on this ;)

It gives me a huge rush, great results and I look forward to partaking in it.  I've equipped my office/home gym with a few staple items.  A homemade stabilizer set, a home made sandbag (made from an old gym bag), a few kettle bells, a jump rope, and an ugi ball.  (All together under 300.00 with the kettle bells being the most expensive).

A couple sites that you can find free workouts

The New York Times just did an article and video on this. Interesting stuff.  Thinking if trying it myself.
(If you need a personal disciplinarian to keep you on the straight and narrow, just let me know!)  ;-)

How to Get Fit in a Few Minutes a Week

A few sessions per week of 30- or 60-second intervals so strenuous you moan, followed by a minute or so of blessed recovery, and a painful repetition or four, may be all it takes to keep fit.

No doubt this is an experience many of your gentleman callers have felt as well, Cameron.  Now it's your turn!  ;-)

…..after a running, aerobics (step instructor), and a spin class addiction I have a recurring right knee patellar tendonitis. Kinda rough with being on my knees so much….praying of course ;-) lol!

I walk miles and miles a day now and…..wait for it….. DANCE! for hours a day as well as stretch and lots of yoga vinyasa positions and poses. It can be challenging holding one's own weight!

Strength training is very important however for bones and muscles…..especially as we get older.

Kettle bells are very cool, but sometimes just balancing on one leg….with your eyes closed (try this…it adds intensity) is excellent.

And this goes without saying….SEXERCISE as often as possible.

Good luck with it all and remember to BREATHE!

Namaste,

Anna (LMT, PTA pursuer)

I love it! I wish I had the patience for yoga! Or the rhythm I dance hahahaa. Though for my cardio portion of the HIIT, I DO throw in some pretty rockin arm moves.

I've tried yoga on multiple occasions and while it was very relaxing, it was never something that could hold my interest. I need something that brings me to my knees... In prayer, of course, with me begging for it to stop lol. I love intensity. It's my personality.

Will kick your ass, you will get on your knees….get up off them, dripping so much fluid…you won't even know your own name! Not for pussy willows. Enjoy the heat
