There was a porn star (who will remain nameless) that was a HUGE star back in the 80s. At the time, i wouldn't even watch a porn film unless she was in it and she was in a lot of them. has always been one of my favorite performers, I think she's lovely, has a great body and seems to always bring her "A" game to her scenes. That perception was definitely tarnished by the following: About 5 years ago, I was fortunate enough to be sharing a booth at AVN with a well known pornstar (who will go nameless, I AM a gentleman with people I care about). We got on the elevator at hotel to head down to the convention floor the second morning and Tory got on the elevator with what I found out later was her significant other, who was also an adult performer. Well, he immediately started hitting on my friend really hard and with a clear lack of appreciation and/or concern about how this was obviously upsetting Ms. Lane.
It was a good ten-minute walk to the floor so I attempted to engage in some innocuous chit-chat with her as we went. I was being a gentleman here as well, not asking dumbshit questions like, "so, how many cocks have you sucked?" Regardless, she wasn't having any of it but rather directed some serious disdain in my direction, projecting an attitude something along the lines of "who the fuck do you think you are, talking to me?" Now, again, I got that she was pissed that her beau was being so blatant about his intentions towards my friend but still think she could have been more gracious in her interaction with me.
Bottom line, it definitely had an affect on how I view her movies. To wit, while I still enjoy watching her, I find myself gravitating towards the more extreme stuff: "Excellent, skull fuck the rude bitch!"
Tory's been described by a number of people as a rude, cold woman. Some have even said "bitch" when talking about her. Yet, on the few occasions I've interacted with her, she was quite nice. I guess circumstances and topic of discussion, and having mutual friends may make a difference.
Anyway, the real problem in that whole experience you described was her SO who acted like a dick. I find a lot of the male talent are like that. But, then, they normally get paid to be dicks...
Although I didnt get the chance to book one w/her, Sophie Dee was one I was gonna see for one until about 3 years ago. She, her hubby, and I were always cool to one another, I saw her at one of the sign in booths at AVNs and went to say hi. She replied rudely, "cant you come and talk to me later, I'm real busy here". Out of respect for her, I complied and attempted to talk to her later like she requested only for her to be rude again towards me. I think her hubby was as shocked as I was but I decided to never to speak to her again or see her for one after that. Ive heard from a few other people that have seen her for one (and in the industry) that she's become increasingly jaded & rude towards her fans & others in the industry.
