most of the show was low end fetish manufactures. if you are going to vegas anyway have a great time - there are numerous wonderful reviewed ladies you can select from. but unless fetish is your thing the AVN show itself is no longer worthwhile for finding top grade talent. of course always still good to keep an eye out on the TER ad board and other famous adult sites for anyone special visiting that week. have fun.Trip to Vegas for AVN(1/23-1/26) based on the following....

Usually any porn stars are working the show floors/ after parties and rubbing shoulders (and other parts!) with as many other industry insiders as possible.
We're trying to make connections and further our business in that industry, anything else that happends is usually at private after parties and just for fun.
Personally I do not provide that week... there's just no time available! I'm sure others have the same experience.
There is always new talent coming in but again, they are more interested in pursuing career opportunities.
Having said that, AVN does bring in a lot of out of town providers hoping to ride on the coat tails.
No reason you can't come to Vegas and have some fun that week - there will be plenty of lovely ladies for the picking

Should I go to Vegas and hopefully to see some porn stars. I am willing to spend a huge wad of cash for some fun and fantacies or is it impossible to hook-up. Or should I just go to Costa Rica where it is a lot cheaper and the girls are hot. I just do not want to waste my time in Vegas.
Prostitution is legal there, and it sounds like you have experience in travelling there. I look at some European women now and then, and Prague sure looks interesting.
I fortunately get to go to Europe a couple of times a year and have been to Prauge and would recommended it. The best places are almost any Eastern European country. I had taken a hiatus from Vegas for a few years and returned last fall for the sin city soiree. But Vegas gets a little boring during the day so I thought the porn convention would keep my interest during the day. I guess not after reading the post. A lot surprised and disapointed. I must admit I didn't attend on 2015 but I did attend in 2014 as I was co-hosting vivid radio.
The whole show was in one room and as you said it mostly consisted of unknowns and fetishists and clips stores promoting their networks to the DIY guys/girls.
But that's because there are no porn stars anymore.
The days of contract girls is long gone.
The average life span of a new girl in the industry is now 3-12 weeks shooting time and 6-18 months release time (but more like 6 months).
That's it.
Producers only want new girls that haven't been seen before.
Their agents make sure they get used up as much as possible as fast as possible, spat out and left with nothing to do but webcam.
I go because I get invited for various events, hosting, etc ... but I wouldn't attend if I were a member of the public.
(Unless you're really into fart fetish videos or other strange niches.. if that's you're thing you'll find lots at AVN! lol

I was planning on scheduling a vegas trip to coincide with AVN...but having second thoughts after reading some of the posts. Is the show worth an afternoon (and cost of admission)? How about the in suite parties? Not necessarily looking for a porn star hookup - there are plenty of great TER gals for that; but taking advantage of some eye candy and mingling with some stars would be nicee.
...to see well known Porn stars live and the program itself is funny and raunchy. I enjoy the Red Carpet arrivals of the stars and once you're inside of The Joint for the shows, you hang out around the bars with the stars and watch interact among themselves and their fans. You can ask for a quick photo op with many of them. Most women wear very revealing formal gowns.
I've haven't yet been to the Expo but I plan to this coming year, hopefully. I see several folks say it's not worth it and I've talked to several others who say, between the Expo and the Award show, they'd rather attend the Expo 'cuz it's a good time.
You'll never know for yourself until you try it!
