Legalization

I have believed for some time that, sooner or later, a court will rule that the state may not judge the reason one person decides to have sex with another person.  While it is perfectly legal for a woman to 'be seduced' by any number of gifts, travel, entertainment expenditures, etc, it is illegal for her to just ask for the cash if she wants to.   Without getting into the issue of abortion, we have given women the right to choose under an unwritten right to privacy.  How can that same woman not have the right to have sex for any reason she chooses under that same right?
Having said all that, it does not mean that a provider would have unlimited rights to solicit in public or, necessarily, advertise indiscriminately.  I have lived in Germany where legal brothels were common and am just back from a trip to rural Nevada where brothels were fixtures in several towns.  Both in Germany and Nevada, they seem to be innocuous with the locals ignoring them as part of the landscape.
In Las Vegas, the failure of the police to make a dent in prostitution screams for it to be legalized and some controls added to protect customers from the famous 'Trick Roll' which is so common for those naive enough to pick-up an unknown provider.  My personal experience in 'the hobby' with TER shows me that, yes, there are normal, well adjusted women who have no problem making or augmenting their income as a provider and enjoying their business.

Good post. A lady can pick up a guy in a bar, he buys her drinks and dinner, she fucks his brains out and kisses him goodbye. But the minute she asks for a few dollars (or a lot of them) she's committed a crime.

In some liberal areas there is already a shift in LE's focus to target only those sex workers that are coerced.  It has the result of taking some of the heat off of the girls that are working voluntarily, especially the Asian girls who have overstayed their visa's, because the bay area also has a number of "sanctuary cities" where they do not deport.  For instance, in the bay area, any girl, even if working voluntarily at an agency, busted the first time will be treated as a "victim" and allowed to take a 40-hour class over six or eight weeks, much like traffic school for auto tickets, and have her record expunged at the end.  The beauty of having your record expunged is that any subsequent arrests will also be first offenses . . . . and the merry-go-round goes round.

I thought the Supreme Court ruled that a woman can do what she wants with her body. I guess that's just aborting babies.

Vegas is just like that

Unbeknownst to many Vegas hobbyists (and maybe some providers) if you are a first time offender here for soliciting (its the same charge for either side) you can take a half day HIV awareness class, pay a fine (generally 500) and theres nothing on your record.

Don't take my word for it .. consult any Las Vegas lawyer who knows the industry they'll tell you. You can even google the info up to find a firm.

Ive never had run in with LE *touch wood* but I keep the number of 3 law firms who know the loopholes in my contacts

Just back from a trip to Amsterdam where prostitution us obviously legal. It is so much cleaner and safer it's amazing the difference. It's also much cheaper...around 50 euros ($60) in the red light district with some amazingly hot ladies. Completely different world
