It's troubling to quickly glance at our Board and see so much negativity in the comments to posts. This hobby is supposed to be fun--that's rule number one.

All of the progress, an interconnected world that is almost hard to fathom--and I feel that people have never been angrier. There is such little attention paid to grace, respect, and class in our interactions, exchanges, posts.  I find it demoralizing and just a drag.

I believe we should expose and share information about people in the community who are frauds, and who want to rip others off.  But the snarkiness, the nastiness, the ripping of each other--would any objective person conclude that the terms "happy" and "fulfilled" are glaringly absent?

This used to be fun.  I don't understand what happened.

you let a person use an ALIAS this is where the problem starts.

Then, when you take away ALL THE REGIONAL MODERATORS the shit just flies everywhere.

When a post SHOULD BE REMOVED, you have to basically waste a whole day of your time going back and forth with admin.

AND ITS THE SAME TROUBLE MAKERS OVER AND OVER AND OVER. No, it's not fun

moderators were eliminated.  Now, there are too few in admin. who are trying to monitor all the boards with the primary dependence on "report a post" submissions.  The mods were not paid, so it wasn't a budget consideration.  

Why was this change implemented

But changes were made a couple of years ago that pretty much killed all the fun we used to have on here. Many of us that used to be top posters here hardly ever post anymore and many of us don't bother to read the board on a regular basis any longer.  

Maybe things will change down the road but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Guess you missed the cataclysmic trainwrecks on Chicago board 2-3 weeks ago. There were several. Giselle, Zana, MacDiaper plus several other usual suspects were in the middle. Guess you missed or conveniently overlooked that week of 'fraternity and brother/sisterhood?' At least this post will get you nominated for a SPOTY.

You could start some childish game/word threads or repetitive restaurant threads if you like.

create a fun and viable community. Not necessarily moderators. If people just ignored the negative posters and didn't feed them, it could work. People also need to come back and try to post as and when they can.

What was discussed in the past? What made it exciting to be here? What were some of the topics?

the elimination of the Daily Photos! I used to log on here every day (member since 2004) mostly to see the photos but also because there was so much more chatter/posts!!

The Photo Days were a great way to 'flirt', to tease, to Recommend, to remind yourself of the ladies that are out there---------> and to draw LOTS of people to log on each day! Are you hearing me TER?

Now, with no Photo Days, I click over to the Photo Section and if I scroll down and see a lady that I always enjoy her photos (Makenzie, Syndie or Mermaid), if I click on her photo link, I end up who knows where in that thread! Then I need to scroll UP/DOWN in order to find her photos! This does NOT help these ladies!

Now, I log on only 1-2 times a week....... versus daily in the past.

As far as "negative" posters, we do have a 'problem child' here and we need to NOT reply to any of his posts.....

I am thrilled you enjoy my photos.  Sadly I haven't been
up on par with all that lately but that will change soon.
Especially since I will be getting new photos in about a month.

I 100% agree with you on the elimination of the photo threads
though.  The fun is out of the boards!! I use to look forward  
to logging in every day and seeing the themes and pictures.
I really wish they would bring them back to the original  
boards but I doubt it.

I wish TER would listen too and bring them back.

As far as all the negative Nellies...I just ignore them!! My
time is more valuable than to get sucked into reading about
people and how unhappy they are.

Life is wayy to short to get involved.  With my mom getting up there in age
and all she has to deal with it, it really makes you focus on  
the good part of life and let all the negativism go by the waist side..

you ladies can think of a way to still have the occassiional Photo Day. Somene could start a thread one morning along the lines of ""How's my new outfit look"? And then the other ladies join in!

The next week it could be "Are these shoes sexy enough"? And, "Check out my new bed spread"! The 'themes' could be endless....... and hilarious too!

I mean, we are having threads about what books we are reading so why can't the focus go back to sexy fun?

Interesting points, Mr.Fisher. And maybe that's what we need! :) But I remember when the photo threads were the *only* other action here on the FL board besides the usual ISOs.
