As we all know, this is one the cardinal rules of investing...

Translating to the hobby, I find myself slowing down as I get older, though probably not wiser...

Now that I am seeing fewer ladies, I find myself reaching for those who charge more for companionship. Hence, the roughly constant $$/month outlay as in prior years.

Is this a familiar theme with my fellow hobbyists?

But it works like that for everything else: clothing, furniture, cars, and so on, so it makes sense to me. :)

No. As funds freed up when mortgage and college expenses dropped away, I've  been spending much more. Don't know when I'll be forced to stop, so maybe a certain panic, or maybe financial disinhibition, has set in.

I found that works just fine for me, in addition I repeat often with the same lady when we have a great connection. Dates are much more romantic and real!
