I don't recall hearing the word before today.
 After looking it up I  found many examples of your  eponymous fame, Fisherville,  Fisher Mountain, Fisher Valley, Fisher Peak,  Fisher Town, Fisher City, Fisher River, Fisher Creek, Fisher Bay, Fisher Gulch, Fisher Rapids, Fisher Reservoir,  to name a few.    
  Makes sense you'd like the word, many of your fishermen relatives  are  famous explorers, leaving their mark on the World  
 I'll try it in another  sentence,  you'll  get my drift.  
  Mr fisher is the eponym of TER Mr fisher school
