Translating to the hobby, I find myself slowing down as I get older, though probably not wiser...

Now that I am seeing fewer ladies, I find myself reaching for those who charge more for companionship. Hence, the roughly constant $$/month outlay as in prior years.

Is this a familiar theme with my fellow hobbyists?

No. As funds freed up when mortgage and college expenses dropped away, I've  been spending much more. Don't know when I'll be forced to stop, so maybe a certain panic, or maybe financial disinhibition, has set in.

I found that works just fine for me, in addition I repeat often with the same lady when we have a great connection. Dates are much more romantic and real!
