For a week after sex I feel happy and even the dumbest joke makes we want to burst out in laughter. I suffer from chronic mild depression, but during the week after sex I am unable to feel depressed. I tried purposely bringing up the thoughts which makes me depressed, but seems like my mind was blocking them.

I would agree that it's not necessarily the ejaculation or exercise, because they don't release "the cuddle hormone," meaning oxytocin. Oxytocin is a great depression-buster, and it's released when you get touched with hugs and caresses by a live human being to whom you are attracted in some way, or whose physical touch you welcome.
