I never play slots unless I have free credit. Just a curious question. If I put in $500 on a $1 machine, how long will that keep me playing aside from hitting a huge jackpot?  Will that sustain me for a few hours or can it just go away in 30 minutes?

Slots are the biggest moneymaker so they're most likely to get you comps regardless of Total Rewards level. I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year and play poker and table games like Pai Gow. My wife goes with me once every couple of years and she plays slots. She gets better room offers than I do.

For the last 15 years or so I've stayed at the flamingo, planet Hollywood, and other Caeser properties on free comps from gold to platinum to diamond status. Over the last couple of years as long as you were platinum you didn't have to pay the resort fees. Now you have to be diamond or seven seas to get the resort fees waived. On top of that, I can't get my weekend rooms comped. I get charged now at a reduced rate but still get the resort fees added on top of that. Come on Caesers, lighten up or I might have to reduce the amount of times I go each year!!!!

Do you get any points if at all for sport betting?  Have people got comped rooms for sports wagering or is it just for the tables and slots?

I was just there. I think I bet about 2k and might have gotten about 500 points on sports. I'll know at the end of the month.

I used to play exclusively at the Rio until about 2006 when the quality of the property declined.  Caesars has great restaurants and shopping, but I really don't like any of the Total Rewards (ie Caesars) properties.  I switched over to the Venetian/Palazzo and they take really good care of me.  HOWEVER, if you play blackjack for under $50 per hand, don't stay there.  They started doing this 6/5 payout shit at blackjack tables all through the property, except for $50 and above minimum bet.  Otherwise, the property is great and the rooms are huge.  Many of the ladies on this board have been with me and I only stay at the Palazzo.

Unfortunately the 6/5 blackjack payout is becoming the norm more and more from the upscale casino's to the dives.  Agree with you about the Venetian/Palazzo.  Great property and awesome rooms.

the reason they aren't waived for platinum and platinum has close to 0 perks is because of the credit card giving you instant platinum. i personally still love cet.. they have flexibility with all of their locations, so... they will always win with that. :)

did you check open availability/flexible dates for the rest of the year? you may have just checked on a weekend that has a high demand. i slip my card down when friends play from time to time and have close to 80k tier credits. even i have some weekends that aren't coming up comped.

for the last 5 years people learned how to use the system for what its worth. cet looked at it like abuse and they are now having headaches trying to figure it out.

take for instance the free limo ride last year and cash advance fees waived. that was insane. no need to do either.. but they did and people who were able to but shouldn't have been able to definitely abused it. :)
