fly out of town to attend a mixer? What factors go into making that decision?

Thank you so much for indulging me. :)

Factors in my decision to attend...who the co hosts are, what are my thoughts on them, who are the other people attending, and whether the city it's being held it is one I'd want to visit.

Have traveled for a few M&G's that were hosted by people that I knew well.  I had a real comfort zone with these hosts and knew that the party would be a good one.  It's a big investment of time and money and you don't want to get any bad surprises when you get there

I think if you can make something of it prior to your arrival you will certainly find it easier on the expenses for yourself. I may be doing that very thing myself, as I'll already be on a previously planned vacation and may hop on a plane and shoot over to one that's right next door. If it's feasible of course. I guess it all matters if you are hoping to just experience a M&G in a different area or experience one in general if there aren't any in your own vicinity. I'm sure you'd have no problem setting up dates before and after if you advertise.

Good luck to you, sounds fun. Happy Holidays!

xx kisses,
Stevie

Sarah,

That is how I met you, by flying out of town to attend.

gd50man

delightful meeting it was!  :) I'm so glad you were able to make that trip.

I usually time my Vegas trips to coincide with M&G's held there.  Great memories and friendships made, and I will be doing so again for AVN week-end next month.  I've also attended M&G's in Florida, DC, Connecticut, LA, as well as my home area of NYC.  The main factor in doing so is whether any of my favorites will also be attending, as I will be seeing them before or afterward, or sometimes both.   Works for me!

meet plenty of fun people all over the country! Thank you for answering, CD. :) I am seeing that the guest list is probably one of the top factors in persuading both ladies and gents to come to a mixer. Duly noted!

Over the years, being based in South Florida, it has been necessary to tour. Great cities such as NY, DC, Chicago, Vegas and others have become "second home" to me and many of the South Florida ladies as well. To fly out of town to attend a Meet & Greet and plan a tour around it is common. Many of the ladies do it to this day. I now even have taken my Meet & Greets on the road.

As a hostess now, The Pleasure Concierge, I see it more often as well, that people travel in from all over to attend. Many ladies and gentlemen travel in from out of town. They request hotels in the area to stay the night for safety and to play. People from NY go to DC, people from Boston go to the Casino areas in CT, etc. At my NYC Meet & Greet last month, there were people from Florida, Vegas, Connecticut, DC, California, New Jersey and other areas. It was amazing!

The factors for the ladies I think are if it is held in a location they would otherwise tour or place they are considering touring or vacationing. The factors for the gentlemen would be if it is a location they visit for work or can easily "get away with" visiting if they have "restraints" at home. Cost and convenience is a consideration for travel for both ladies and gentlemen. I think the hype and people in attendance would be a consideration as well when deciding whether to travel for a Meet & Greet.

In the past, I attended meet & greets to meet the ladies just as much as the gentlemen. I first met some of the greatest ladies of all that are my friends to this day at Meet & Greets such as Laura de Leon, Nikki Avalon and Hollie of Miami. I met them all for the first time at a Meet & Greet. And, quite honestly there were funny stories behind them all...lol...

Hope this helps with your planning. Best of luck:)

Always Sexy~

...you need to travel to Las Vegas next month for our AVN M&G!!   I want to hear those "stories"!!

Hope you can make it, sexy!!

a few summers ago when I traveled to New York for a M&G/Mixer. We both were visiting New York with the expressed purpose of attending the mixer. It was the start of a friendship that I'm sure will endure for a long, long time.

In addition to meeting many ladies at my local M&G's over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting some of our country's favorite ladies at M&G's in various parts of the U.S.  While I have not spent "private" time with all these ladies, I have enjoyed the opportunity to get to know them and share some social time with them.  The list is quite long and it includes all three of the fine ladies that Toni mentioned above -- Laura de Leon, Nikki Avalon and Hollie of Miami -- and numerous others.

The hobby world is a big one, indeed, but the many M&G's have helped make it smaller and certainly much  more fun.

If it was a NY M&G a few years ago I was almost certainly there.  Did we meet?  I doubt it, or if we did, we didn't share handles.

but you were going to be out of town.  I was there the summer before as well and who knows, maybe we did meet.  If so, I guess I didn't insult you or you would have thrown the proverbial brick at my back!  lo

I'll bring a brick. LOL!

Toni! :) I must say your reputation as an incredible host precedes you! One can only aspire to garner such a reputation. :) From what I've heard, you've definitely got them down to a fine art.

I hope you won't mind my PMing you with a couple of questions!

Thanks again for the detailed answer.

Hi, Toni:  Come back to Chicago, please.  Jennifer Cole and I had the best time at the Roaring 20's party!  Hope to see you again soon.  You are the best!

...can be a big challenge... but IMO it produces the best parties and increases the odds that future parties held by that host will be very successful in both attracting more new attendees as well as retaining previous guests.
Variety IS the spice of life !

We have some phenomenal news too that will be publicized soon... Sarah and I are just
full of surprise....

Makenzie

Of course I would attend an out of state M&G, especially if it's at a metropolitan city and I get to site see, I'm in...
