I reported a fake review 10 days ago. I followed the steps of writing to the Vegaschips2015 and kindly asked him to remind me of where and when we met. I never heard back from him. There are 3 things in the review that I know I have not done in the past 90 days or more. I have written to TER with a problem report several times over the past 10 days and they have not given me the courtesy of a reply. All I ask is proof that he met me and I will not bother about the review. It is dangerous to allow guys to create a reputation of seeing providers that they have not seen.

Is there something I am doing wrong in trying to find out if this review is legitimate?

To use the contact us link at the bottom of the website along with the problem reports?
I find when dealing with this issue contact us link at the bottom of the website seems to get a response faster.
I hope admin responds to you and takes care of this. There has to be a better way moving forward with the new redesign of ter hopefully they will address this issue that comes up so often.

Thank you so much Jaydalee,
I just tried the "contact us" button. Hopefully that works.
I guess the problem reports get lost.

I have been having a hard time with TER about a similar situation myself. The client posted a review for the wrong provider and has emailed TER twice now asking them to take it down and they still have not done so. In fact, they have told me, despite the client notifying TER of his mistake, they think both the client and myself are lying. I hope you have better luck than I do. Unfortunately, I now find myself questioning the accuracy of this site in general.

All 5 reviews have been taken down in 7 days or less...

I always contact the client first asking when/where our alleged date occurred, then use the Contact Us Button to reach TER Support, I explain in detail the process by which I keep immaculate records of TER names, then forward them the message I sent to the client as well as the time and date I sent the message.

They respond with the obligatory "wait 72 hrs and see if he responds" and depending on which Customer Service agent you get they will take down the review if he hasn't responded to you in 72 hrs... Occasionally (if he hasn't logged into TER in 72 hrs) your customer service agent will send him an email telling him to login to read his PM's... If he doesn't log in in 48hrs from that message, or he logs in but doesn't respond to you or TER in 48hr they will remove the review.

I do think it sometimes depends on the Customer Service agent you get as I've heard of girl with less than stellar TER CS experiences who push back way more than I have personally experienced, but I think if you bug them enough and stand up for yourself while still being considerate and thankful for their time has really helped me get done what I needed!

Wow you have had much better luck than I did. The customer has even emailed TER twice now notifying them that he posted the review for the wrong provider and they have yet to remove it. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

... the biggest issue, is the two weeks free VIP given to anyone submitting a review. The irony of people objecting to pay $30-$50 for VIP while spending hundreds if not thousands on the hobby is not lost to me either.

But as long as 2 weeks free VIP for submitted reviews remains in force, you will continue to have the headache of false reviews, revenge reviews, etc.

The thing is, as we all know, the reviews are the bread and butter and revenue source for TER. Without the reviews, TER has no readership. without readership, TER has no pagehits, and without pagehits, they generate no advertising.

During my time as Moderator, the issue was discussed many times, and there were some good ideas for altering the business model, and changing the way submitted reviews were rewarded. That all ended when TER went Euro, and apparently, the business model remains the same.

PS - Props to Curvy Carly for posting the steps shes taken in successfully dealing with TER on this issue. There used to be a procedure posted on the Suggestions & Policy as well as the Newbie boards but all those procs have been re-written since then

The business entity that is The Erotic Review, was sold to European interests a few years ago. It was merely a turn of phrase.

...reviews by limiting the 2 week free VIP option. I suggested that in order for a guy to be awarded the free VIP, he must submit a positive review of an already reviewed Provider and the Provider must approve the review in order for it to be eligible. I fully understand that with some guys, submitting a positive review would be revolting to them but that's the price of entry. Also, a guy can only receive this benefit once every 18 months or so. This would make a big impact on fake reviews, I believe.

I understand the smart marketing concept behind offering limited free VIP. It's not unlike the free samples offered at the grocery store but it's obviously being abused here on TER and it's hurting Providers and misleading Hobbyists.

Don't you just love today's automated world!
