I too am from Long Island and guess what?
I lived on the upper east side, mid 40's, west 40's and Battery Park City......
I brought my business to Long Island and .........
I'm doing much better out here in the "BOONDOCKS"
For Richard to say we don't make money here and he knows because he does it for living, well I feel sorry for the poor slob who hires him for research. There is so much money out here the streets are lined with Beemers and Benzzezzzz.

How about the traffic and the smelly cab rides that want to make you puke........
Not only do we have BIG money here but we have class and a much better quality of life and guess what...The smart providers know about quality of life and class as well......
I'm not knocking NYC....I love it, traffic and all but it pisses me off to read the stupid remarks made by fellow TER members regarding Long Island....
Rich, you should think twice before calling this place a "shit Hole"...

I've been reading these posts for a while now and this guy RichardG talks so much shit about us guys on Long Island. He always refers to LI as "lower and middle class" and feels that us Long Islanders don't earn a good living unless we work in Manhattan. This is so untrue. I know plenty of people, including myself that work on LI and earn mid six-figures and more. I don't know who led you to believe that people don't earn good money here.
RichardG if you're reading this which I'm sure you are, I don't know where you get your information about the income levels and standard of living of LI folks. It frustrates me to read your ignorance and ridiculous opinions about one of the wealthiest areas in the U.S. Why don't you ask Jeeves what the average family income is on LI? And honestly, most of NYC is a shithole outside of Manhattan; I'm sure most agree including Jeeves.

As with any area, there will always be, good or bad ones. I have only had the pleasure to pleasure the good ones and they keep me coming back a lot too!!!

Richard G's comments show nothing more than his ignorance. I do not want to get in the middle of a Manhatten VS Long Island war, but some of his comments leave me dumb-founded. All Long Island guys are middle class? Huh? I earn well over 6 figures and I work right here on Long Island. Has anyone been watching the rising cost of houses on Long Island in a good area? You are looking at between $500,000 - $950,000. I do not think that your average middle class person could afford this. I refuse to waste that much time on this guy, he just is not worth. So as Jerry Springer would say those are my final thoughts.

try to occupy the well priced quality talent by flooding the message board. You also try to mislead girls into thinking that they will make as much money in LI as Manhattan which is not true. Finally, the average townhouse in Manhattan has exceeded the 4 million mark this year and the average home is over 1 million. In Long Island the average townhouse is mid six figures. You can check with your realter. For the record, even Brooklyn is generating more wealth than Manhattan, why do you think the new Nets stadium will be in Brooklyn? New Jersey has a higher per capita income than Long Island as well. There may be good people in LI, but there is certainly not allt of money compared to other areas of the city particularly Manhattan and thats a fact not opinion.
I think most agree that the real estate in Manhattan is worth what you say. The issue is that you talk down LI and always patronize us saying that LI is all working class. Your point about Manhattan is valid, but when you speak about NYC, leave out the other 4 boroughs. As I stated earlier, MOST of NYC outside of Manhattan is crap.
