Good advice, Carley. I just bought a semi-wadful of FC2s at Castle Megastore in Phoenix for $1.99@..

I was surprised they were so inexpensive and I didn't have to buy in bulk to get that price. I'm definitely closer to achieving 45 minutes of use than 45 seconds so, for me, it's worth the extra cost and I'm happy to supply them myself. A very significant benefit of using FC's is that the guy doesn't need to switch condoms when switching between partners.

I have never been a big fan of condoms but certainly understand the imperative on safety.  Lately, (over this past year) once the condom is placed I do my "best" to continue but the lack of any feeling ultimately leads me to a flaccid state.  I've had one experience with the "female condom" and this was MUCH better than the male condom; however; it's not widely utilized.  How come more ladies don't offer this as an option?  Is it less "effective"?  Is it cumbersome to insert?  Also are there any male condoms which would produce a better "feeling"?  Thanks!

It's now part of services offered. It's somewhat new so it's not up to date on many profiles.

...aren't really keen on trying them for the first time when trying to impress a new client. It can be a bit awkward for a lady to insert them but I've had one lady who was able to insert one without me even being aware of it and without her fingers ever leaving her hands. I find them to be much more comfortable, too and am less likely to lose an erection when using them. Offer to leave the room while she inserts one or suggest that she do it in the bathroom. Otherwise, try experimenting with different sized condoms, that could make a big difference.

I was having this discussion with a group of providers (outside of Vegas) and 2 of the girls had never heard of them before and the one who had said that at $3 a pop they were too expensive for as she put it "45 seconds of use".

Now if you're going to an adult bookstore then yes a pack of 3 is about $10 after tax, vs about .05 for a regular condom but I explained to her you could get bulk packs on amazon for closer to $1.30 each depending on the seller and how many you buy and then also explained their design and best use to the girls who had no clue!

Honestly if it's that important to you (and I bet it is because I have yet to introduce a female condom to a date who has said they would ever go back to a regular condom if given the choice, we're changing lives here people, lol) I would plan on purchasing them yourself, if an amazon delivery isn't an option for you most of the sex shop near the strip do sell them so you could grab a box before your date and perhaps it's best to tell your girl that you will be bringing/providing them because she can do some Google research if she hasn't used them before!

I will say there have been times when I've offered a female condom and the guy said he prefered the male one because he had the opposite problem as you where he was too sensitive and the female condom felt too good/real so the male version allowed him to last longer

3 pack usually for $5.99 and they have deals all the time for freight and discount. Arrive in a couple of days and you can stay inside in the AC and NOT Go outside in the 111 degree weather.

$3?  Could that truly be an issue?

My thought's exactly! She was a younger girl, newer to the business and a little crass hence the 45 second statement. In the grand scheme of things where in her city she charges $250/hr so I can assume that $90 for a month's worth of female condoms vs a $8.99 box of 30 male condoms is how she was looking at things!

To each her own, like I said most guys prefer the female ones and I am happy to provide them!

I was not suggesting that people who charge $250 are innately crass or low class, I was saying this particular girl was somewhat of a country girl and new to the business and she personally didn't see a justification in the expense!

Some of my closest friends charge in the neighborhood of $200/hr while another one just raised her 1hr rate to $800 and we all see about the same number of clients per week- all providers have to find that sweet spot between demand and what the market will bear and the type of protection we choose to offer as well as how much we choose to spend on said  protection is a personal choice!

It seems they have gotten more difficult to find....  I keep searching for new places to purchase.

Thank you everyone for the excellent responses!!  Additional questions for the ladies; what is your "feeling" about the female condom?  Is it similar to the feeling or lack thereof as the male condom?  It is always my goal to create "equal" experiences and if I have a great experience while my partner has a less than stellar experience than that's not okay!!

According to Medline/ The National Institute of Health:
"HOW EFFECTIVE IS IT?

The female condom is about 75% - 82% effective with normal use. When used correctly all of the time, female condoms are 95% effective.
Female condoms can fail for the same reasons as male condoms, including:

There is a tear in a condom. (This can occur before or during intercourse.)
The condom is not put in place before the penis touches the vagina.
Not using a condom each time you have intercourse.
There are manufacturing defects in the condom (rare).
The contents of the condom are spilled as it is being removed."

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/004002.htm

Most of the references I have seen say latex male condoms are 98% effective.

Lambskin, I have been told, are better for sensation, but they are worthless for anything but birth control.
I have had personal experience with ultra thin ones breaking (a long time and several tests ago).  No thank you.

I find it helps to lubricate the cock well BEFORE applying the condom so that there is a little slippage, thus a little more friction. I've wondered about turning one of those "ribbed for her pleasure" condoms inside out so that the friction is on you instead of me. I like the Female Condoms too.

...of the FC is that it can be inserted ahead of time.

As for male condoms that produce a better feeling, I've received the most positive feedback from the Skyn (polyisoprene) line. Regardless of feeling, I like them as an alternative to latex anyhow.

Also, adding a couple drops of condom-safe lubricant to the inside of a male condom before covering can increase sensation and decrease friction and breakage.
