Agreed--my experience as a cardiac patient

I have given up the hobby in the interest of putting my marriage back together.  But from a few years of philandering post cardiac surgery and ongoing cardiac meds I have some experience with the phenomenon.

ED pills worked OK for awhile but when they started to become less reliable and producing only half-staff erections I finally went to a urologist.  He prescribed the injectable stuff, prostaglandin in my case, and that is much more reliable.  It works in 15 minutes or less and produces a nice hard erection. It is also A LOT less expensive.  The trick is learning the appropriate dose and losing any squeamishness about sticking a needle (small though it is, an insulin needle) into the side of your dick.   A few times I used too much and ended up with a 3 hour, uncomfortable erection.  Then I cut back and it didn't work at all.  I think I have it right now, though. 1-2 hours is a happy result, since that span allows for extensive foreplay and DATY followed by lengthy intercourse.

It does delay ejaculation, which can be a positive.  However, on second rounds I almost never come again.  This is fine with me and was OK with my partners as long as they understood what was happening and didn't become disappointed they couldn't bring me off again.  The other drawback is that the directions say don't repeat injections within a 24 hour period, so sex at night might preclude sex in the morning.  I have done half doses the next morning and sometimes that works, but might be risky.

Another negative side effect is the aching penis post-coitus.  This lasts an hour or two even after the erection subsides.

Another positive is that ED pills began to work again.  So I can alternate them.  The pills don't retard ejacution as much and the side effects are different  -- i.e. mild headache manageable with Tylenol instead of aching dick.

After having heart surgery and following with some wonderful cardio rehab, I began feeling 30 years younger.  My little man hasn't felt nor done as well in ages!  Of course there was a down side : difficulty sleeping at night and often dozing off during the work day from the lack of sleep.

On a follow up with my cardiologist I was given a drug to HEL me sleep at night that was described as a cousin of Valium.  Well, one little pill and I now sleep like a baby and stay alert all day!

Well, this weekend I discovered the down side or what I call DPD - Dead Pecker Disorder.  Yep, searching on the web proved my experience was a real side effect.

I had an extended dinner date Saturday with a beautiful lady, and my symptoms were somewhat embarrassing to say the least.  To her great credit, she got it up!

Well, back to the physician and a prescription for Viagara which should counter the problem.  Of course I could give up the other medicine and the wonderful sleep that comes with it and not need the Viagara.

Still feeling 30 years younger.

If I had only known that this past weekend . . .

My doctor is always trying to get me to take meds to control high cholesterol, or high blood pressure, but each time I ask him about sexual side effects and he confesses that yes, these meds can affect that.

So, instead I just eat less fat and salt.  I figure those are less fun than sex.

This hobby not only increases my health, but does so without raising health care costs.  I think my health insurance ought to cover part of the cost of seeing providers.

When you find a health insurance co, that does that LET ME KNOW lol

Do a Google and You Tube search for Alprostadil and Trimix. It works for nearly everyone, and the cost is about $2.75 per use if purchased through a compounding pharmacy. Must be done through a urologist.

I'm not sure what time of the day/night you take your pill. Also my darling if you took it before I arrived, um, don't forget the wine you had as well, lol.

After dinner...please don't be embarrassed, no need for that! Besides are you 100% sure it wasn't because I sat on one of your nads, lmao? Or it could be that you were totally drained from the pre cook out romp! ;-) hmmmm, I'm going with the totally drained theory!

Seriously I had a FANTASTIC time!

xoxo,

Steph

Steph, I had a great time but having just started the new meds, I didn't know the side effects.  You are truly fantastic!
