they shouldn't

you never know how far you can trust agencies (or anyone for that matter) so if privacy truly matters to you, you should reconsider doing business with them period.  wasn't it just few months ago that the IRS came knocking on BM's door?  it may've been totally unrelated to the mess they're in now, but do you think that anyone/anything could stop the IRS from doing a quick checkup on the "business expenditures" of any big fat corporate clients they found in their books (if they were Enron executives for example)?

in truth, very few people in the hobby know my real name and that's entirely by design. when i branch out to new girls and new escort agencies it's nearly always by word-of-mouth referral (my real name is never revealed).  sometimes it's frustrating when any old Joe Sixpack can dialup some hot pornstar from these agencies and you can't.  but in time (if you do your homework) you can arrange it such that you're totally anonymous and still hobby with relative ease

and that's just for little old ME -- a single guy who doesn't stand to lose a marriage, a job, a home and half his bank account!

personal information from potential CLIENTS OR STARS when they don't even implement, as a minimum, SSL encryption on their web forms.

This strongly indicates the absence of an absolutely mandatory trait for such businesses - a dedication to confidentiality and privacy that is at least equal in priority to their desire to stay in business.

If clients and stars are comfy about having their legal names  and other personal info etc. flying around in plaintext that is of course their business.

To be unaware and trust them is by definition ignorant, but understandable. To be aware and still trust them is, with all due respect, foolish.

I agree.  Some freely give up all privacy to have this kind of experience.  What's a little tricky is the first go around in this hobby with no previous references.   Some of the information asked of hobbyists is in direct contrast to the false names of pornstars.   They do business as......   A hobbyist should have the same protection of their real identity if there is that concern of discretion.

Some hobbyist want to protect aspects of their life that has no relation to this experience.  What's my home address? Is that necessary, I don't think so.  What's my job, does that matter. I can tell my job title but I shouldn't have to name the exact employer.

Do hobbyists know the providers home address, their real name. I'm sure some hobbyists can truly become real friends of providers since this process isn't anonoymous business.

Its personal enough and emotions are involved, feelings can get hurt, some have bad experiences, there's much anger. A bad business deal is usually taken to court or the police are involved.

Trust is important is this process between hobbyist and provider. Can any hobbyist be confidant some day in the future when the provider names the well known she's been with in articles or a book. Agencies raided by the justice department will have all the names of that businesses clients.  Its their out from serious charges to have that information.  Police want to know if city officials or federal people are on those client lists.

Being on lists or named by a provider years from now might be an embarresment in the future of hobbyists.

Some hobbyists can't be embarresed. They annouce their exploits with providers or detail a sex tour of Thailand online without any shame.

Everybody is not the same. Some value their privacy at all costs. Those who truly value discrection shouldn't do anything like this.

Dealing direct is supposed to be a more discreet process except the providers wants to ask the same questions as agencies.

Accepting credit cards online there is a need to gather all the necessary information that match's the card.

Dealing direct I'm assuming most hobbyists are not using their credit cards. If we're not using our credit cards, its for discretionary reasons.

My name is really not Parliament. Its a handle. I'd like to use it is this process and running into a little difficulty the first time.
